They can act like they helped agree to a stimulus, meanwhile they chiseled it down where it’s not meaningful enough to have any sort of long term impact so Biden’s presidency will start off with a very rocky economic situation that the GOP controlled senate will then wield their power to keep rocky, thus blaming Biden in 4 years for how shyt America has gotten and using that to win the house back in 2 years, and widen the senate gap, and perhaps tilt the next election back their way. Mitch isn’t passing anything he doesn’t think helps the GOP keep power. He passed this. That’s all you need to know

Mitch was prepared to play the long game whether they won the Senate or not. Even if Democrats would have won, then they conceivably wouldn’t have taken control until January after everything had expired. Mitch was going to fukk then over by being a nuisance to the stimulus bill in order to place the blame on Democrats and therefore use for leverage for midterms in 2022.

He lucked out in maintaining control of the Senate and even he’d tell you that. Even the markets knew that he was going to win out in the end which is why they lowered their expectations of the stimulus bill. Either Nancy or Mitch was going to take the L from losing and unfortunately it ended up her. Therefore, they wasted months of arguing when leverage never changed at all.

Other than getting more stimulus I don't see how they lose in this deal considering Republicans were the ones stalling in the first place
Well for starters they coulda worked out a deal like this months ago (extended unemployment especially after July), and then had time to do a 3rd deal by this time... basically if they was gone take this pity deal they coulda been done it and then america could still be getting this next round.

They got played and stalled out.

he knew he had to pass something before they let out for the year. He managed to get the shyttiest deal possible thru because chuck can’t negotiate for shyt, can say he passed something yet continue to hold shyt up and handcuff Biden for at least 2 years because he holds all the power

Chuck and Nancy couldn’t negotiate as they don’t have control of the Senate. It makes them take an huge L for the optics of caving into Mitch demands after their original stances.

Notice how everybody hoped on the Bipartisan bill the moment it came out. It was the perfect cover to try and save face scree refusing to budge on original provisions. It makes them all look bad as this same bill could have been done months ago, but they made people and the economy suffer in the name of “leverage.”

People on here are perfectly fine with the $600 being lowered, yet when I mention that it had to months ago in order to get a deal done I got called jealous and a hater. Along with worrying about someone else’s bread lol.

Your cities smal biz is destroyed for the foreseeable but you got your 6 hundy after 6 months of worry. What a victory :heh:back in the bread lines come March
2 of my favorite local restaurants that opened in the last 2 years are gone for good now. And none of them lasted more than 2 months past the first shut downs before they said they were closing for good.

That kind of shyt really upsets me. BUT I’m not aligned with you in terms of student debt, as I think we should cancel all of that shyt. Post secondary education in this country, at its current price point, is a scam. An absolute rip off and a gamble. That systems been broken for a while and it’s a mistake that could be corrected. The government didn’t do a good enough job of regulating it so they’ll have to make bold moves to fix it.

this shyt not coming till next year???? what the fukk man

They are going home for the holidays as soon as they finish voting on the bill and theoretically aren’t coming back until next year. Even then, they’d have to start the processing phase as a lot of people likely don’t have the same bank account or address because of COVID-19.

That’s why them doing it now doesn’t mean shyt as it should have been done months ago. Not to worry though, they all get to go home with family for Christmas while getting paid in full and feeling like they actually did their job.

Dems are taking a big gamble they think they will sweep GA and be able to do more a month from now. I don’t see it happening though.

They lost their gamble last month by losing the Senate during elections and still pretended to have leverage when they really didn’t.
