The Spurs went 0-4 against the Thunder in the 2014 regular season then spanked them in the playoffs.

True but to be fair ibaka wasn't 100% also he a spur killer for some damn reason he steph curry without the dribble and better D

I still feel we can beat them tho
If kanter had better D he be hella nice I like his game

From the 2014 series thread. Hope to see many more renditions of this exchange during this series...

He was never lethal. Clown was always inconsistent. He just shot lights out a few games against the Heat in the 2013 Finals but he's been a headache offensively.

Fair enough. Good thing the Spurs didn't overpay him on his latest contract.

Yup Tony was banged up that whole series. We closed them out in OKC with CoJo starting the 2nd half cause Parker didn't play in it
Parker at least played we started 0-2 without ibaka. None of that matters anymore anyway both teams are totally different

Reggie Jackson gave Spurs that work in the regular season, can't remember if he had impact in the playoffs tho.

Waiters and Payne better play solid. If this guy Waiters plays like he gon get the superstar and 1 calls tho.....:dame:

I'd be shocked if this series go 6 games.

Thunder didn't even look all that great against the Mavs. Westbrook had all them "padded" triple-doubles in the season. Not once did he get one when it counted against the Spurs or Warriors. Spurs are just too good to lose to these "frauds". Boban just might average more points than Waiters in this series.

Bad matchup for the thunder, Spurs too disciplined defensively down the stretch for okc erratic offense

What happened to Danny Green? He used to be lethal from beyond the arc. Now he's just decent. Still a great defender, mind.

You know what...I have been so depressed over what the swagboyz did in the draft that it forced me to go back and watch some spurs games just to take away the pain...because I record all of them...

And after really looking at it...the biggest problem for Danny Green...is Tiago Splitter...

Tiago was a roll man...and he was our primary screener...so when he sets the pick and rolls to the basket he is taking a big man with him, a guard with him, or in OKC case sometimes both because they are to dumb to communicate on pick and rolls...

And after that happens the ball swings around and it can find Danny...

Splitter is gone and now we don't have one roll man as a big man...West and LMA are pop men damn near exclusively...Duncan is about half and half but he hardly ever looks to really score anymore...Diaw is half and half as well...Boban only plays in garbage time so I don't even really know about him...

Danny needs to catch the ball...set his feet...then release...and this lack of space just fukking kills him...because since LMA and Diaw and West pop so much and never dive...their men are always just a few feet away from Danny who is doing nothing but hanging out on the perimeter...

It's so ridiculously bad with LMA who pops WAY out to just a foot or two inside the 3 point line sometimes...you can't even have Danny on the same side of the floor as him when they play...he will never ever get an open look at a 3 unless the ball swings all the way to the other side...

And since Danny has to set his feet...and can't pass...and can't dribble...this is just complete death for him...when he is on the court with LMA or West or Diaw he has to stay on the opposite side of the floor as them to create any sort of space to do anything...

I been shytting on Danny all year since he no longer a 3 and D guy...he just a D guy...but now I don't think we can even have a 3 and D guy in this offense anymore...we need a guy who can cut to the basket...or we need to get a big who is gonna to dive after setting a pick and make sure he plays when Danny plays...

Consequently...this has been why Simmons has had some nice games...because with LMA and Diaw and West always popping out...that leaves some spaces for him to dribble drive through and attack the rim...which he is pretty good at...

If we still had Splitter with him and Duncan clogging the paint Simmons probably wouldn't even be on this team...to many large bodies for a d league rookie to try and shoot over down there...

It was like basketball nirvana when I figured this out watching old games...:ahh:... I was like "this must be what it feels like to be @Malta when he typing a post:ahh:
