They "avoided" them because one team lost to Chris Paul on one leg and the other team let Corey Brewer & Josh Smith dominate them
They weren't beating the Warriors any way
Spurs were dealing with a few injuries coming to the playoffs and OKC were missing KD for the season, if those two teams were healthy they would have taken warriors to 6-7 game series, I mean even memphis took them to 6 games.
What I am saying is if you look at previous championship runs, most of them have at least one series where the champions had to play a healthy top team.
even 2001 lakers who had the most dominant playoff run ever, they faced healthy kings who were #3 seed, and #1 seed spurs were missing sean elliott and derek anderson but duncan and david robinson were playing there, and then lakers destroyed sixers who were healthy in the finals.
People know who are the top teams in the league, if the champions beat a few of those in their run they treat the championship as a well deserved one. There is a reason why people bring the asterisk talks.
