Side note: We've been seeing less and less of the VAR as the tournament has gotten into the latter stages. I don't think I've seen the VAR used at all during the past 3 or so games.

I said it earlier in the thread, this is the best English team I've probably ever seen. They are better than the so called "golden generation" (this term btw )
of Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard, Scholes, Beckham, Ferdinand, A. Cole, J. Cole, Terry, G. Neville etc. The keyword is "team". They have good team chemistry and they play without pressure, unlike the aforementioned players that would visibly be quaking in their boots as they sang their national anthem. }

Football isn't played on paper. Croatia have just gone through two penalty shootouts against teams they should have had relatively comfortable victories against. They are lucky England isn't up against Russia.

That said, I like them against England if they have recovered from their previous game, which had a lot of their players fatigued. If they come into the game with heavy legs, then Sterling, Dele Alli, and Lingard are going to be running circles around them.

You sure you're not saying this English team is better than them because they made it to the semi finals?

The previous English teams would have made it too if they faced the weak opposition this English team faced. As far as I'm concerned France would be their only true opponent if they make it to the final.

This English team is more lucky than good. Look at the teams the "golden generation" lost to at the world cup and tell me if this current team would have beaten any of them
