Thing is, #1- who created the term “YN”, and #2- who decided to adopt/use it, especially on social media, etc?

This shyt is just like the “n word”. Everybody wants to say it because it’s in our music and many of us use it colloquially or as a “term of endearment”.

It was wrong then and it’s wrong now.

WE are doing this and WE are using these terms all over social media.

It’s the same thing all over again.

Wasn’t there a thread here a few weeks ago talking about age ranges for brehs? “YNs are 18-?” “Unc is 35-”, etc.
Black folks embrace this stuff and then get upset down the road when the negative effects kick in.

The term/acronym “YN” originated from…..? :sas2:Must be a very influential to spread so quickly.

Folks don’t want to be honest about what is influencing our young men and shaping their image. :yeshrug:

every black man is referred as a "nikka" now is one of the most words used. yall say nikka every other word on here but "yn" is a problem?

it's just a term of endearment for our boys.

See, nikka first was used back in the Deep South
Fallin' out between the dome of the white man′s mouth
It means that we will never grow, you know the word dummy
Other nikkas in the community think it's crummy
But I don′t, neither does the youth 'cause we
Em-brace adversity it goes right with the race
And being that we use it as a term of endearment
nikkas start to bug to the dome is where the fear went
Now the little shorties say it all of the time
And a whole bunch of nikkas throw the word in they rhyme
Yo, I start to flinch, as I try not to say it
But my lips is like the oowop as I start to spray it
My lips is like a oowop as I start to spray it
My lips is like a oowop as I start to spray

This a glockumentary on the YC's in action

Cacs are very vocal about being class division even within their race so they don't get stereotyped the same. These types characters will just be categorized as White a trash. And it doesn't affect young white men in general. The difference.

Stop. This logic is ridiculous. Just because I say something to or with my people doesn't give someone else the authority to say it to me or my people.

The term could've easily been YB's for Young Bloods/Boys:flabbynsick:

Or HG's/CG's for Hot Girls/City Girls

Or YH for young hoes, all of which don't denote a color

After a while, you stop caring about this type of stuff.

It ultimately doesn't matter.
