Our data is being gathered and sold no matter what you’re doing on the internet

This is fake outrage at its finest

:flabbynsick: You only see dancing if that’s your interest and y’all nikkas anti fun

But you post on a message board

You blaming TikTok for that and not Kia

No reputable social media company would let a video hit millions of views on how to steal a car

Kia is at fault though

But that shows how negligent TikTok is

Tik Tok is HORRIBLE for businesses. Your following literally means nothing on that platform. The only user it cares about is itself. You know how you are REWARDED for going viral?

You get 98% for you page.

You would think that is amazing, until you realize anything that is 98% folllowing is a dead post. 500 views type dead. 98% of the views are your followers.

1 million views? 98% are people WHO DO NOT FOLLOW YOU.

As a business owner, the people that hit the follow button is the ones YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR VIRAL VIDEO. I have dozens of 100k view reels on instagram in the last 3 months. No matter how viral, roughly 85% or more of the views will be from people who follow me.

This is EFFECTIVE MARKETING.

The most "successful" people on tik tok are universal people who have no real brand identity and can be liked by strangers. Why? Because that is the audience tik tok caters to, strangers. It's almost like the follower count on your page is "how many people will definitely not see your videos" count.

Ask anyone if they spend money on tik tok ads, or have had massive success on tik tok and you will find out that shyt doesnt exists.

"I sold out in one day thanks to tik tok!" is cute and all, but guess what, no one gives a shyt you sold a whopping 10,000 bucks in inventory in one day. Businesses are trying to figure out how to consistently sell product all year round.

as an adult with free will to just not use tiktok, i don't give a fukk.

the app is designed to dumb down our children and get them addicted tho.

the app in china for their kids is completely different, i'd be fine if they gave us the algorithm they use for their children instead of pushing mindless bullshyt on them.

it is a weapon.

This is the an appeal of TikTok and why IG is losing it’s sticking power with people .

Outside of following people you know, IG caters too much to influencers and people pushing products and ads

Can you explain how the app is designed to dumb down our children?

:what:

it seems like you don't understand how anything you're commenting on works. the algorithm is the same. the tiktok version in china uses the same algorithm as the one in the U.S, regulations in china doesn't permit the type of content you'd see available on tiktok in america. if we had the same speech infringing or code of conduct laws, our social media sites would look like theirs too. if someone just wants science and math videos, the algorithm will push that content to them. whatever content you object to on tiktok can't be uploaded in the chinese version. that has nothing to do with the algorithm, it's rules and regulations that apply to all social media companies in china.

they can choose to push educational content to children in America, just like youtube kids chooses to push child friendly content to children.

children should not just get to watch "what they want"

When has a modern company done anything that's beneficial for society outside of being forced to

People who hate TikTok usually have no experience or knowledge of how it works. If you want intelligent content you can easily create an algorithm for it. There's book TikTok, DIYTikTok, mathematics TikTok, science TIkTok, philosophy TikTok, etc, etc. Basically if you're only seeing dumb shyt on TikTok it says more about you than the app.

I'ma be real, all jokes and trolling aside, the only reason I don't like tiktok is I think if I started using it it'd make my attention span even worse than it already is. Has nothing to do with the content.
