All US traffic is routed through Oracle servers but people still complain. It's just the big tech lobby trying to stifle their competition.

China can just buy your data outright from companies. It's nonsense. The US government are the ones trying to restrict your freedom and theyre using tiktok as the boogeyman to do it

they can choose to push educational content to children in America, just like youtube chooses to push child friendly content to children.

the CCP pushes educational content and limits time spent on apps/wesites by law. I don't want that shyt here in america.

who saids there isn't kid friendly content on tiktok? tiktok will push whatever related content you want to view while youtube has a well documented algorithm that pushes people to white-supremacy ideology.

that's fine that you don't want that here in America, I'm not talking about adults viewing habits, so I don't care what tiktok or youtube pushes to you.

letting children have access to an addictive platform that just shows them whatever they desire is not good for development of children. they need to be restricted to kid friendly and educational content, it shouldn't be "well if the kid wants to see it then that's what they'll see" when it comes to children.

you seem to value your own desires and entertainment over what is good for the minds of children in this country, that's fine. we disagree.

YouTube and Google answer to shareholders
yes and bytedance is answering to a government that has a stake in the future generations of Americans being dumber than the future generations of the children of their own country.

at that point I see that as a weapon of the CCP. :manny:

I see this as a strawman. This is only a problem because our government and citizens don't care about data privacy. Everything they are doing is 100% legal

No one has ever cared about who owned a application or anything on the internet

If this was a legitimate reason people would throw their phone in the trash
Again you made this thread based on a premise that made you feel good(?)

In the face of overwhelming evidence, in this thread and in the news, you keep trying to make it something else

None of the Tik Tok controversy happens if it's an American app. And we KNOW the American apps spy on us too, but a Chinese app pooling our information makes a lot of people uncomfortable
