so wait, Moses Malone helped Hakeem on his game in the summers. Right, you've made my point for me. (and note I also said THE MODERN college game, like the last 15 years)

I wouldnt go as far as aborted. I am just thinking about having a dad, or a male figure teach you post moves when younger. A lot of black men got incarcerated and some future dominant big man lost out on what his dad probably learned on his way up. Its sad. :(

The college game is still the same. Unlike the NBA or even college football it seems to remain the same. I personally think the lack of defensive 3 seconds, smaller court, and more compact game makes it a lot easier to be inside-out in college than the NBA.

Breh, I don't agree with that last paragraph. A lot of parents aren't teaching their kid the low post and a lot of these kids don't want to learn it.

I wish that Andre Drummond stayed in college this year. He would have feasted in college this year.

the college game is completely different than what it was 15-20 years ago. Not even from a talent standpoint, the game is much more physical and slow now. The ACC used to be a transition conference, and even its been slowed down.

And my point was that the parents arent teaching it because dad is locked up.

Drummond would have feasted doing what tho? put backs? lobs? The guard play is pretty poor now,

I blame KG and Dirk for this shyt..

After KG came in the league all the big men wanted to play like guards. All the announcers would nut on themselves talkin bout how "he can step out and shoot and he's 7ft"..

That started it..

Larry Bird probably actually started it as he was 6'9", could rebound like a PF, while passing and shooting better than most guards.

I agree to a degree but it's better for bigs now to develop far more than the NBA. The NBA big developmental track record is horrible.

UConn seem to be good at entry passes this year compared to last. They are an impact big away from being a very good team.

My opinion is that Big men are made in college, off the top of my head the average age their rookie years between Hakeem, Shaq, Zo, Mutumbo, Robinson, Kareem, Ewing, Wilt, Russell, Walton, McHale and Duncan was 22 years old. Shaq was the youngest of that group at 20, and even he stayed 2 years in College to mature. Even lesser centers like Daugherty, Smits, Seikaly all played 4 years, and it makes sense that the last truly great low post player drafted was Duncan. After that you have a flood of HS players and underclassmen hitting the league and most teams don't have the time to tutor players, either they have that foundation from the jump or it's basically "tough luck nikka, convert to a defensive 5".

I also blame the AAU culture as well, it's harder to stand out and wow people if you're down on the block, so more kids gravitate to playing on the perimeter, a dude like Perry Jones (6"11 in shoes) 20 years ago would have stayed 4 years and been a PF without question, right now he has no position in the league.

i thought shaq did 3 years?

Larry had a center vision with a guard's abilities. His post passes were a thing of beauty.

Take out the passing, how is that different than Bob McAdoo? That style of play can be traced WAAAAYYYY back.

Dana Barros wouldn't be an All Star in the 2010s :mjpls:

shyt works both ways. There's never been this level of perimeter play in the NBA. Ever.

In the 2010s he could be
He was a one time allstar
He could have a real good yr and make it
He said Hubert like he was a perennial allstar
jammal maglorie was an allstar
The fact their not a lot of big men should make it easier for Hubert
