the newer artists don't want to sing they want to coast on auto tune/voice compression [tory lanez, bryson tiller] so NONE of them sound original

or they wanna be rappers now. [Chris Brown, Trey Songz]

you have to actually search for real r&b to get your fill....but when you do :wow:

Where do y'all live to where y'all don't have access to radio stations that play good R&B :dwillhuh:

I could put on the radio at anytime, and hear some good R&B.

97.1 in NC would be the r&b station but they dont really play anything new. Like if i wasnt on thecoli i wouldnt know half of the pure r&b albums that come out.

Oops, this post
Even singers have to make music for the stripclubs today. Singers aren't making songs that displays their TRUE singing capabilities. The singers you named had "soul" in their music. Thats gone now. There's no incintive for a young up and coming singer to craft a song like this:

Music that sounds like that gets little to no mainstream play today. Up and coming vocalists who wants to make a living off their singing ability, has to make generic and "ratchet" club music for a better chance at that.

A new Boys II Men, Brian McKnight, Carl Thomas, Maxwell, etc exists but the type of music that could display their true vocal abilities get little to no shine today

was meant for this post

i just refuse to believe that no young singers under 30 have amazing vocals. im talking Mariah, Luther, Whitney. Jazmine Sullivan is ok but she does nothing for me. Hell man TEvin campbell was young but had an amazing voice.

Adele, Katy perry, and Sam Smith ran off with it. Because they are definitely still making songs singing their hearts out.
