It was spent traveling. Breh, if I'm in the middle of some outpost that doesn't have a fast travel location, I can't fast travel to somewhere else. Going back to ACC and reloading to a new spot was time consuming. Then again there are outposts where the fast travel thing is there but because of what's going around you, you end up missing it. Like the area where you first go to meet Emmerich. I missed that one because I was busy fending off Walkers and a enemy gunship. Next time I had to go back there I had to literally travel all the way out there. You end up getting more fast travel as you play but by the time you get them you're pretty much done with the game. That was my main gripe. The game gave me tools too late. Idk man, I just don't really like that loadout shyt. I rather just have mad weapons equipped.. Speaking of weapons.. what happened to that?? MGS1-4 you could have multiple weapons on you. In MGSV you're limited.
you have fast travel, a helicopter, vehicles, a horse and a walker gear, and you can speed up snake himself. with any of these tools it only takes 2-3 tops to get from/to anywhere in the game. I played on PC so loading times were almost instant. Don't know if that was different on PS4

The story missions almost never made you travel far unless it was part of the mission, like sneaking through a couple outposts to get to the objective, or finding non-stationary targets

I played on PC. Here's the thing, those options aren't always available. If you're doing a stealth run, you can' just go charging in with a walker gear, Horse or Vehicle.
There's this one mission where you literally gotta go all the way to this place to follow some dude who about to meet with someone just to kill him or extract him. There's this other mission where you gotta extract the truck from the skulls. That mission at first had me looking for some Intel to find it's route. Once I found it, I then had to get to it's location and it was VERY far since it was already en route. I had to literally restart the mission and then just rush to the intel and then find a way to find it's path before it left. I ended up finding the airport was it's base and I got it done like that.

Options :ohhh:

That's not travel. That's part of the mission. You have to follow someone to get to the objective. And this is just ONE mission.

Again. It all depends on what you do. If you get to the Intel in a decent amount of time, the truck will basically drive by the outpost where you find the intell. You fukk up, you got some running to do:ufdup:

You literally NEVER have to run anywhere unless you choose to do so. There always a tool at your disposal.

Maybe you just suck at thinking your way through stuff and would rather your hand be held
so I guess those missions where you're running from one objective to the next is my fault.

Playing Uncharted over on PS4 just feels great and I really miss that point A to B gameplay. Now TLOU was an improvement in that you still went from A to B but the spot from A to B was like a little sandbox. I prefer this approach rather than full blown Open world for the fukk of it like how MGSV did. I'm sorry but despite that game having good gameplay and whatnot, the pacing and structure of the game was terrible. I didn't like choosing missions and just doing shyt unrelated to the story over and over. I would've preferred a game structured like MGS1 to 3 with open levels over giant open world with nothing in it besides some random deers or wandering soldier.

I hope this gen brings more linear games man. Linear isn't bad as I see cats keep thinking linear means terrible and boring. Linear games are dope man.

Give me more Max Payne, Uncharted, Bayonetta, Halo and RE4s over Ass Creeds, Far Crys, GTAs and MGSVs. MGSV imo would've been a better game if they cut half the fat out the game. Just beautiful A to B with big levels. There was too much open space that seemed like it was there for naught.

Open world games bring more harm than good. They're only fun in games like GTA where you can just do anything but that's outside of missions. Very few games do fun open worlds and again they just don't hold a candle to more linear games when it comes to a well paced story.

I hope they don't make Mass Effect:Andromeda or w/e open world.
I completely agree

I just tend to get overwhelmed with open world games. I didn't finish GTA V, Watch Dogs, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4, Far Cry Blood Dragon, Witcher 3, Shadows of Mordor, Skyrim and probably a host of other games because you just end up getting distracted and/or overwhelmed. I just don't feel like putting in 70+ hours into these games unless I'm engaged from the start. I only finished MGSV because the core gameplay at least was great and when you get some story stuff going on it's good.
