Yes you can if you program the A.I. Correctly

This shyt is an excuse for poor game design.
So I guess virtually every single game in existence has poor game design then. Because I've yet to see a game where you have an AI partner with you in stealth sequences where they don't get in the way.

No. Having an A.I. companion that's invisible to enemies is poor design.

They could have done much better with that aspect of the game. It totally killed the tension/immersion to watch her casually walking in front of the enemies I'm supposed to be hiding from. And knowing she couldn't get hurt made her presence during gameplay worthless. She might as well have just disapeared and only show up for cutscenes/story sequences.

It's a minor quibble because she's not always "walking" around. Most of the time they're behind you and/or hiding. Imagine if the enemy could react to her from something you DIDN'T do. Stealth would be ruined. Man get the fukk outta here with that it kills tension/immersion. It doesn't kill immersion for you when you summon a fukking horse or tank close to an enemy outpost in plain sight with no one reacting to it but someone walking close to an enemy is ruining immersion.. the same thing that happens in MGSV.

Man :camby: So the AI in MGSV don't see when you're moving around and standing at a distance?? How the hell they you see them and they don't see you other than a ":dahell: is that?" look? You could choke a nikka out RIGHT behind another one and the dude walking in front won't even notice someone he walking with just died.

You're bringing up minor things to shyt on the thing overall. The AI in TLOU is top tier. To say it's shytty because of a debatable design is nonsense. The stealth AI is not the best but then again the battle AI is very good. I'd put the AI in MGSV over TLOU simply because it's a much bigger game in regards to what is going on but y'all ain't about to try and shyt on TLOU because MGSV is new. Fukk that.

I see y'all getting defensive over MGSV. I'm over the honeymoon period. It ain't above criticism.

That's why the A.I. Would need to be top notch.

If it's in plain site, they see it and react to it.

At night time a guy creeping in the shadows, in a camouflage suit would be hard to see.

That isn't an easy feat. You say it like there's loads of stealth games where you're walking around with non controllable AI partners that can get detected. I already showed you how MGSV is different because those partners are part of your options. Quiet, D-Horse, D-Dog and D-Walker are apart of your gameplay options. They're supposed to be interacting with the enemy.

If it's in plain site, they see it and react to it.
Nope. I seen too many times I called in a air drop and the enemy don't say shyt. A big green ballon floating down to me and nobody says a word?? Come on.

Breh I'm talking BROAD daylight. And on top of that you can throw infinite ammounts of magazines at the same spot IN FRONT of an enemy and they seldom turn around to see where it's coming from. Like they don't see something is being thrown or hear that? They only reacting to the sound after it lands.

Never said it wouldn't be difficult. That's what they chose for their game. And it was a bad choice. They could have written it so that she was still part of the story, but wasn't out stinking up the place during gameplay.

So metal gear did it the right way :ohh:

If it passes their line of sight, they react to it.

It's very easy to be spotted in broad daylight. And the reactions have to be somewhat consistent. You need constant rules for gameplay. Otherwise it'd be frustrating.

She helps you during the gameplay. She's not just walking around. She can stab dudes for you, shoot dudes, distract them with bricks and whatnot. You trying to equate some mishaps that may or may not happen during gameplay with overall "bad gameplay" is ridiculous. Then again we're talking about a Sony game here.

So metal gear did it the right way :ohh:
Is Ellie, a teenage girl the same as Quiet, D-Dog and a fukking horse? You be saying the dumbest shyt on here my goodness.

If it passes their line of sight, they react to it.
They don't react to it. It'll drop in their line of sight and they don't be saying shyt. It has to be VERY close. Then again you're probably going to be right next to it.

No it doesn't.

The rain makes the dog invisible huh? :troll:

I had the same dumb shyt happen to me during gameplay. I was supposed to interrogate someone at night and the guards just stood in a house with each other and never walked out. I shot inside the house from right outside the window and the other guard inside just stood there.

W/E man, this thread is off topic now. Just forget it. Talking about MGSV in here seems to be upsetting people. :mjlol: I spoke about AI and nikkas bringing up shyt that has nothing to do with AI. :snoop:

When does this game end :russell: thought I was about to play chapter 2 I've been doing repeat missions. They dropped the ball there. Where the fukk all them cutscenes? I don't even know why they showed that shyt. Had me hype this shyt falling off a cliff. And I'm a 100+ in :noah:

I agree with OP.. sometimes you just want a focused campaign, even if you beat it once and never pick it up again. Hardest shyt is putting down an Open World game and coming back.. thats why I stopped playing GTA 5. As much as i liked it and wanted to play it after not turning on the PS for a bit I forgot wtf i was supposed to do. All them pointless side missions and you forget what, why or where.

Linear doesn't mean casual or some other negatives that ya'll attach to them.

These aren't casual breh.

I'd rather these than open world #25 from Ubisfot.
Games like ninja gaiden 2 and devil may cry are the best type of games imo

Uhhh they can. Ellie can get grabbed by the AI.

She can die.

You just got done taking about how badass she is:martin:
She's a human that does regular things like throw bottles and bricks. She shoots a handgun sometimes. She's not Quiet who can go invisible and dash around breh.

OL SUUUUUURE. nikkas came in here with the force like a typhoon when they seen I started talking about MGSV. I can play these games at least to confirm what I'm talking about. You gotta ask your nephew if you have to :lolbron:

remember when people were saying MGSV was repetitive and @Fatboi1 was defending it? good times

this thread seems like strawman anyway. not every game is open world, and there's still plenty of linear games... like The Order 1866 and Knack :troll:

I didn't get to Chapter 2 yet. I was still in my excited stage. After finishing it up completely and seeing what it has to offer, I can agree that overall the objectives were kind of samey. The gameplay wasn't repetitive it's just that what you had to do ultimately was the same.

I didn't say every game is open world and there's not plenty of linear games thus far. Feels like every major game coming out in the near future is going to be open world.
The Division
Horizon PS4
Far Cry(Of course)
Ass Creed
Fallout 4
Scalebound
NFS
Mirrors Edge
Crackdown 3

....
Uncharted 4??
TLG
Halo 5
Gears 4

As for Knack and The Order, them being linear isn't why they're "bad". They're just not very good because of other reasons. Until Dawn is linear(until you have to make choices) and that game was way better than the order.

The Order just was half baked. Too short, nothing to do and disappointing gameplay options. Gears 4 looks the same.
