Draymond's stat lines were better when he was making all-star teams. And I'm not sure why y'all think DPOY should have anything to do with a stat line at all.

But yeah, a DPOY-level big who acts as his team's main distributor but doesn't score much is a unique role in bball, Draymond is the only one I can think of. His numbers in his best four years ain't that far off what we've seen from some other all-stars though.

12-8-4 (not an all-star year)
14-10-7
10-8-7
11-8-7

Throw in 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks a game, a DPOY and two DPOY runner-ups, that ain't bad at all. I'd rather take that then a guy averaging 18-2-6 on bad shooting #'s with no defense.

Compare it to these:

12-6-9
14-7-10
15-7-10

13-8-9
11-8-10
10-6-9

Those were Jason Kidd's numbers in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2008, and 2010. Those #'s ain't very different from the numbers that Draymond puts up, plus Draymond is more impactful on the defensive end. Not only did Jason Kidd make the All-Star all 6 of those years, he made 1st-team All-NBA in both of the bolded years and actually finished #2 in MVP voting in 2002 with that 15-7-10 line. And Kidd shot 39% that year and 32% from three.

two diff positions, eras, and responsibilities but i get your overall point

That's a bullshyt narrative that makes me think people didn't even watch the series. Only 1-2 of the shots Draymond hit in that game were wide open. It was good ball movement and sometimes Draymond just making shyt happen.

And how would you explain all the games earlier in the playoffs when he was getting buckets as the #2 option alongside Klay when Steph wasn't even there?

Klay was there that's why. What did Dray do when none of them where there.

They left him open on purpose. He balled out on game 7 I'm not gonna front. Let's be real the attention was on Curry and Klay.

No one said that Draymond was a #1 option who is supposed to be a one-man scoring machine. There are numerous players far better than Draymond (like Jason Kidd for example) who couldn't fill up the bucket all alone as the #1 scoring option either.

But Draymond going 32-15-9 on 11-15 shooting and hitting 6 threes under the pressure of a Game 7 in the Finals is still a MONSTER game. He hit at least 3-4 of those threes in someone's face off the quick catch-and-shoot, and he drove and scored on at least 3 different players, with the and-1 twice. You can't deny how well he played.

I mean on the other side of the court, LeBron and Kyrie got all the attention, but you know what K-Love did? 9 points on 3-9 shooting. Or in the 2013 Finals in Game 7 you had Bron and Wade get all the attention, so what did Bosh do? 0 points on 0-5 shooting. It's hard to think of a #3 who ever took advantage of the moment as much as Draymond did in that game.

If Wade and Bron were getting all the attention why'd Bosh only get 5 shots? and Love 9? Were Wade and Bron not finding Bosh? Irving and Bron not finding Love?

Oh I see you forgot that Love had 14 rebounds and was +19 . Bosh statline was utter garbage you can have that one

Bullock/Barrett are combined shooting about 30% from three this year but randomly went 5-5 from three in the first. That obviously wasn't sustainable as they only hit 1 more three the entire rest of the game.

They were down 5 at the time solely because the Knicks hit an unsustainable string of 3pt in the 1st. You can't watch the Warriors and not see that the defense and offense both run smoother when Draymond's in the game.
JUST GAVE UP 77 1ST HALF PTS
TO THE JAZZ.

NOW DO SOME MORE SPLAINING
ABOUT SUCH & SUCH
BEING HOT FROM THE THREE.

Of Draymond's 32 points, only 2 came off a pass within the three-point line (when he crashed the hoop on a cut to the basket). The rest all came on drives, offensive rebounds, or three-pointers. He made his own offense happen. Bosh and Love didn't. If they were hitting threes like Draymond they would have been fed all game. If they were beating their man on drives to the hoop they would have scored plenty.

Love was 1-3 and 1-5 in the previous two games before going 3-9 in Game 7. He always comes up blank whenever a series is close. So far as Bosh, he just got really, really passive.

Draymond stepped up. That's to his credit. Y'all talk like just anyone could score 32 on 11-15 if Steph and Klay were on the court. If that was true, then why did Harrison Barnes play so poorly?

compare a guy that did this in a game 7 of the fukkin NBA finals to Ben Wallace, brehs

He’s obviously regressed big time,

these stats are embarrassing!

Why don’t I remember Draymond scoring 32 in game 7 :ohhh: All the smoke went to Harrison Barnes (who was trash) but if Curry and Klay play even halfway to their usual level GS wins that game.
