I got offered multiple promotion opportunities because so many oldheads in my agency became "TSP millionaires" and retired out. If you want to get into the feds, now is the time to jump in.

I'm real tempted to roll out and buy a travel trailer for my truck and just travel the country or go into that rural life because I'm in a damn good position with my TSP, house and other investments out here. If these positions are cool with me working nomad style I'm out.:yeshrug:

My last job fukked me over something fierce so I'm on no fukks given mode now.

It mainly has to do with wages not keeping up with inflation.

Employers and the federal government both share some blame in that. These employers have no problem increasing prices to their customers as their overhead increases, but most don’t bother in investing in paying the people who work for them and have been loyal to them in building their business more to also reflect those increases.

The federal government shares responsibility in that too, because they could easily increase minimum wage as inflation increases.

The cost of living especially since the 1980s has steadily risen while wages have remained stagnant. Look at what it cost to buy a single family home in 1981 or a vehicle or fuel prices versus what they are today.

Worsening an already flawed system now entry level jobs want their employees to have all this experience and possibly an education beyond a high school diploma such as an associates, bachelors, or masters degree to make 35K a year which equals about $17 an hour. You got people with bachelors and masters degree making $17 bucks an hour before taxes just think about that. Don’t even get me on people that work in fast food, retail, or other perceived menial occupations.

These employers have a “you need me I don’t need you mentality” and that isn’t working anymore. We don’t have a shortage of workers in America, we have a shortage of employers willing to pay those people a suitable wage.

This is all overblown, the workforce lost women due to childcare needs but that's about it

what the actual fukk are you talking about?
i'm not even gonna try to dissect that gobbledygook you tried to pass off as a thought.

This is just the pendulum swinging. :pachaha:

The swing back is gonna be MFer though. :pacspit:

Nah, it ain't EVER going back :lolbron:

These bosses are in shyt's creek and they gonna feel it for years to come. This is the beginning of a WORKER'S Revolution

yup. we are living through history in so many ways right now that it's dizzying.
one of those changes is in labor and how people view it through a societal and personal lens.
just so happens that allot of worker's lenses are all focusing on the same shyt and that isn't gonna
stop until those issues are addressed...and there are allot of issues.

Heh I understand those who quit and started working elsewhere
But quitting to stay home= eating off the Government

i worked my entire life until march of 2020 when i got laid off.
i paid my taxes including into the unemployment system.
not once did i ever think "damn, someone is living off of my dime."
but when i was unemployed and finally was able to claim, i couldn't be happier.
i paid into it and it worked like it was supposed to when i got laid off.
what's your problem?

Makes sense..but people with little kids are the ones getting checks from the Government right now
With no daycare expenses, they're double dipping

:francis:

good.
and i don't consider that double dipping, that's just common sense.
why are you mad at a parent staying home to raise a child?
seriously, of all the things to be upset about you come in here sounding like Ronald Reagan going on about "welfare queens".

fukking crazy, brehs...
i don't think some of yall realize what you are actually saying.
either that or you do and you are truly a shytty person.

our own socialist revolution is in the works:ehh:

let's hope this keeps going in our direction.

I did this and don't regret it. I saved up my money and I quit at the start of this year with no backup plan :yeshrug:.

I been winging it all year, but I will finally be attending a tech bootcamp in Jan 2022.

i've been winging it as well.
just started looking for work and i'm starting a welding class in the winter.
i've been luckier than most this past year and a half.
