Robert Smalls and Martin Delany don't even have movies yet, but this is what's being made. :unimpressed:

There is no movie, show or anything else about Emmitt Till that can be more powerful than the photos showing his corpse. A black man was just shot over 40 times barely a month ago, we don't need to be "reminded" of shyt.

Surprising, they just showed “Women of the movement” which was basically the mini-series of this on ABC.

Really good mini-series btw.

They are not slick. We know women were a big part of the movement. But they don't want to make a new series about black men leading it and give ideas. Nah, they want black boys to be lead by the women now and not attempt to make a change to the system.

As they should :mjpls: .. The Emmett Till story has been buried for the last few decades.. Unless your into Black History, you most likely wouldn't know about it..Most schools don't teach about. Its literally the reason for the Civil Rights
But the story shouldn't have a movie or 2 because it Black Trauma/Porn?:martin:

Awareness is fine, but I'm not fukking with this being hollywood dramatized with makeup and actors and making a plot as dramatic as possible etc. when its real shyt that happened and the woman responsible is alive and chilling

i could see this one thing in the trailer potentially triggering some people, but alot of black folks are going to think the part where there are picking cotton is like inaccurate, but black people were still picking cotton around that time. My mother was born in 1949 and she and some of my uncles and aunties picked cotton in Arkansas. Sharecropping lasted a long ass time.

But I have desire to see this, maybe as a download and i'm bored. Like we already know its not going to end well.
