Cuban Linx is in a whole different stratosphere musically than 93 Til Infinity

They are not contemporary records, Enter The 36 Chambers and 93 til infinity are contemporary records. I personally like OB4CL more as well but attempting to discredit an album that all but put west coast underground hip hop on the map almost literally by itself (along with the Pharcyde) seems rather ignorant.

doesn't matter what it did at the time. We have the benefit of hindsight.

Enter the 36 is a vastly superior album to 93 Til Infinity. This is what I'm talking about. If y'all can't tell the difference, this convo will go nowhere.

36 Chambers is more atmospheric and more ambitious but in terms of execution 93 til infinity is pretty much perfect at what it set out to do. The lyricism and production on 93 was refined and focused; 36 chambers sounds raw and unpolished by comparison (though still sharp) which works as part of it's appeal to a large degree due to the grimy content. 36 is a more artistically challenging listen but 93 is extremely polished and sounds more timeless (as opposed to dated) as a result. I can understand why somebody would like 36 chambers more but also think there's an argument the other way around.

Also, I'd take 93 til infinity over the main ingredient. The production on the main ingredient is beautiful but content-wise it's kind of eh at times. 93 is more personable with a clear voice(s), perspective and tone.

Most of the "real hip-hop purist" you see dikkriding 90's east coast/NY on the net...are not even from the east coast/NY...these are international posters and hipster cacs mainly...i know alot real NY nikkas that fukk with South shyt tuff...old heads too...my partna from Brooklyn and in his early 40's and be lovin that 3-6/Memphis shyt when i got that shyt on wang in the whip...don't let these canadians & caucasians on the coli fool you

No lie bro. I know a few cats from jerz that rock with 3 6, ugk, and 8 ball heavy here in Mississippi. shyt dj kayslay has always shown love to triple six. I think a lot of NY cats fukk with the south on the low has a lot to do with them Sounding like their from the south. Not just because the south had been on the run since the mid 00s but because they genuinely have love for it.

I think all those albums are classics (Soul Food maybe not). But not GOAT contenders. They just aren't in the conversation with Illmatic, Paid in Full, Chronic, It Takes a Nation, etc.
I think The Diary and Atliens are the closest based on consensus (which is all that matters for this type of thing).
