Thinking of joining the Military

Just joined the Navy myself.

As an enlisted you won't be having anything to do with aircraft combat...you'll be more likely support...tech,supply,refuel jets,etc look at the description of the jobs.
You go NAVY try to get a job that is more land based..you do NOT want to get stationed on a carrier.

Advice on Navy jobs.

People risk their lives to come live in the US for opportunities and you have opportunities, but say you're "unmotivated" ...well, find motivation...figure out what you like/what you're good at and get it. Air Force is the best branch.

They treat their people the best, normally the best living conditions and its the most laid back.

The Air Force is pretty much ran like a corporation.

If not the Air Force I'd recommend the Coast Guard and then the Navy.

Asvab. It dictates what job youre capable of doing. Air force likes 80s and higher. Or atleast thats what they said when i took mines.

I got a 79 on my ASVAB and the recruiter told me I could basically have any job I wanted

There was a language post that implied that the bonus was going to be $20k per year upon enlistment. That number was on some nfl contract shyt. This was also around the time they were taking folks and funneling them into iraq. I sorta regret not enlisting but most times i think i made the right decision.

If you aren't sure what to do, then sure... my whole thing with joining the Army was that I had been shot at or been near enough shootings that I really didn't get dissuaded by the whole "but if you join the military, you'll be put in danger". On the contrary, grandma I'll actually have a vest, trained goons, and a bigger gun if I join up. Plus I don't have to bs doing tempwork to make ends meet while I pursue a major that I'm not even sure that I want.

Worked great for me, all things considered. It ain't for everyone though.

this is NOT a great time to enlist. the benefits that were being happily handed out just 3 years ago will likely not be available to you and your family if you were to sign up tomorrow.

Air Force first..they treat their people better..

Army,Navy after that...

@ the Marines unless you really about that life...they break you down in bootcamp..you really have to buy into the Marine way of life..

I have experience with the Navy, alot of my friends went Army though....you'll have a better shot at advancing there than in the Navy. Though if you just looking to save money,and get ya gi bill then the Navy isn't bad at all.

No job, doing crappy in school, broke, unmotivated and have nos what I want to do in life.

Army, Navy, Marines? Any one have some experience in these branches?

I don't know breh shyts depressing. I need some purpose in life and I don't think I'm cut out for this academic shyt. Any advice for a young breh?

If you do join become a marine because they are the real trained killers who cleans up the mess the Army cant handle.
