Interesting .

Me & my lady talked about this yesterday...

If we decide to take things to the next level, then we may set something up to protect ourselves just in case..

That guy made some valid points, but perhaps he simply married a woman who gives a damn about him.

Most arguments could be avoided if both people practice respect for the individual and possess effective communication skills.

I thought this was a given when getting married. Joint everything makes no sense. You can't even surprise your SO with a gift without hiding it or lying :what:

Obviously, keeping everything separate makes no sense either as that sounds like trust issues waiting to pop up

Yes. The problem is if she doesn’t have money and u have a million bucks and u give her allowances like he said, it becomes a permanent obligation in the eyes of the law. But first part of his advice makes sense. I’d say if u got the money, do whatever u have to do to protect yourself. After all, it is YOUR money.

Co-dependence and being enmeshed with each other are the root causes of most strife and discord in relationships.

Tackle the root and there will be no stem or weeds poisoning the garden.

You gotta let em breathe, take it away Fab:

How many years were you practicing family law before coming to that conclusion :jbhmm:

A judge can throw out a prenup at their discretion based on what they believe is fair and unfair, unilaterally. Just because you go through the steps laid out by others too get a prenup done, does not mean it will be 100% safe. Not saying to forgo getting one, just that it is not going to be unassailable.

first time I got married, I didn't have shyt, so a prenup wasn't even a thought :manny:

years later if I ever got married, I'd HAVE to have a prenup. I have too many assets I'm NOT willing to risk for a piece of trim.

:wtf: I look like giving a new bytch half my house/retirement/savings/cash/investments. she wasn't with me shooting in the gym :childplease:
