Im an introvert but I socialize at work and play along when I gotta even tho inside Im sometimes like "mayne I dont give a fukk about ur life story". But it makes life in general a lot easier for u without all that tension so why not

I force myself to talk to people when I'm really an introvert. I find something that they're into to make conversations go smoother. If they're into the NFL, and I don't watch NFL. I watch a few games and I shoot the shyt with them when I come into work and share my almost non-existent knowledge about NFL. That's just an example.
I ask about their kids, but I don't care about their kids... You can't be a fly on the wall especially at these meetings you gotta make a move, you have to be the best at what you do. And not only that, you have to be irreplaceable. You can have the best skills but there's always gonna be someone better.
Form a 'bond'. Be their friend. That's what they really want. If they're white, perfect. Every white guy wants a black friend.

OP, please never go to another meeting without saying anything. You are giving people the impression that you are not engaged and have nothing of value to add. It can be hard, but you must speak up at least once. You can ask a question, or cosign something said by another person. Being an introvert is no excuse for not stepping out of your comfort zone and asserting yourself more.

I’m just the type of guy that only talks when I’m adding value or when I have to, I won’t just talk for no reason. Why do outspoken people feel like everyone should be like them?
Society has changed since the old times. With so much business around, the pressure is on to sell. And extroverts do much better than introverts in that regard. But they also tend to be more obnoxious.
