This is a flawed assessment. How can Bron be a better basketball player when his skill set isn't as good? MJ post game is better, mid range is better, you're watching a guy that grew up with the 3 pt line playing in his 12th yr shooting less than 20% from 3 in the playoffs right now, MJ was a better defender (wake me up when Bron post 100 blocks and 200 steals in a season.....even though he's bigger), and MJ simply won in the Finals everytime he showed up. When measuring Bron, it comes with a lot of hyperbole. People love to champion his "all around" game, yet MJ is the one with 10 triple doubles in 11 games. People love to classify MJ as just simply a better scorer, yet his career high in points also came with 18 rebounds. What MJ was on the basketball court can't be quantified into these weirdo stat capsules like "most 33 point, 6 assist, 5 rebound, 2 steals" that ESPN prop up to give you an "idea" of what Bron is doing. Nobody had to do that with MJ. Just watch them play. Don't lose context in the rush to proclaim something as "black and white".....there's too much gray area. Watch 260 lb Bron pound the rock into the ground and settle for a long 18 foot shot with 200 lb Kent Bazemore guarding him......then watch MJ turn his back as soon as he sees someone like that and proceed to work the post. MJ was simply a superior "basketball" player. Bron just won the gene lottery.
Magic, shaq, Lebron are the only players id love to build a team with.
NoDo you understand what the term "pound for pound" means @malcolmxxx_45
never thought about it like this.
i still think the 09 magic got fluke hot during that ecf.. we coulda had bron vs bean that year
I hope people really appreciate what they're seeing.....
All Day every Day Kobe/MJ better ballers than Bron..... cause the end game is to put the ball in the basket...
But All Day every Day, its easier to build a championship team around Bron than either of those guys....and that's a testament to a greatness that we under appreciate.... especially for a Wing/Guard type player....
To be honest though, The East back in Mj's day was waaaay more competitive and actually had Championship caliber teamS (plural). LeBrons only threat in his prime was the Boston Celtics. How is Lebron not better than MJ? Lebron is winning with the rat pack. When MJ had the rat pack, they would lose in the 1st round.
u dont GRACE a bball. You wield ittop 3 to ever grace a basketball
LBJ over MJ? People forget MJ was putting up 32/8/8 on like 54% shooting in the 80's. LBJ has had seasons close to this, but not quite there. LBJ had seasons that were close. He's better than Mj or Kobe. He does a lot more. He can play PG like a PG. He can score. He can play great defense. Rebound. Make his teammates much better and make it easier. He's like Magic Johnson but much better.
People forget Jordan in the 80's was putting up those all around stat stuffer stat lines that LeBron is putting up. Jordan was putting up like 35/7/7 while shooting above 50%. I gotta look it up, but some people act like MJ was only a scorer, or that he didn't have the all-around game that LBJ did, when if you look at his stats in the 80's, they eclipse LeBrons. Folks need to compare MJs best statistical season to LBJs to see the difference. But ya Bron likes to have the ball, take a few dribbles, draw the defense in or spread them out and make the right read. Jordan in his prime would catch it in the high post, turn around in the air, look to shoot, see Horace Grant cutting in the corner of his eye, fake a pass to Grant and knock down the jumper. All in the span of a second, while he is in the air.
I'm exaggerating (although I'm sure plays like that have happened) but Jordan just naturally knew when to shoot or pass. He didnt have to think, it just came to him. LeBron has to take his time and read the D.
Kobe is even worse, he just decides whether he will shoot or pass before the play even starts
