How ironic of u to use that Bill Duke smiley, lol. Naw, steals are not equivocal of solid defense. U figure Iverson gets 2.5 or so steals a game, well, what about all the other possessions durin' a game where he: a) doesn't get a steal, or b) gets burned from gamblin' in the lanes? And those seasons never got him 1st All-Defensive team. U take steals outta the equation, this argument got no legs 2 stand on. That's why Chris Paul didn't get MVP back in '08, and Parker exposed that ass in the playoffs. :mjpls:

Wheres T Macs All Defensive ANY Team?

I Never Said Iverson Was A Defensive Great, I Basically Said At Least Iverson Has Something To Show His Defensive Efforts, 3 Steals Titles In The NBA Is Nothing To Scoff At, Show Me An NBA Given Stamp Of Approval That Said T Mac Was At The Top Of The NBA In Any Defensive Sense What So Ever

And Your Retort To Iverson Leading The League In Steals 3 Years In A Row Is "What About All The Times He Didnt Get A Steal" ?? :heh:

Like I Said, Iverson Belongs On That List Over T Mac, For The shytload Of Reasons Listed In My Earlier Post

Sure now, but it took Pierce teamin' up w/ Shuttlesworth and KG to make this happen. Pre-2008, it's close, @ the very least.

dude was a good player on a garbage team his whole career until KG and Ray come and people now claiming one of the greatest gimme prime Tmac over Prime Piru anyday

:mjpls: Yea, ok. And I say this, in that overall, Iverson was more a liability on defense. And I actually agree w/ ur original premise FWIW, I just thought u were usin' steals to say Iverson was anything respectable as a defender.

:wtf: Nothin' I said even implied this. All I'm sayin' is that, in their alpha male primes, McGrady>Pierce

You Can Make That Point About Pierce Without Using Garnett And Ray Allens Names Though, His Game Is And Was Always The Same, Nothing Changed But The Team Winning

But Im Not Gonna Argue Cuz We Both Agree On The 2 Points Were Actually Arguing About lol

I forgot about Dirk' 2006 finals appearance. But let's not forget that he got shut down by Haslem and missed two critical free throws in Game 3 in crunch time.

Fact remains that KG is worth more to a team than Dirk.
You are caught up in nonsense about "number 1 or number 2" options. If you watched KG in his prime you saw a player that could effectively guard EVERY position, a player that could pressure full-court, set screens in the back court and was a presence defensively. Even at his old age KG's defensive presence is felt.

Since they are close in offensive productivity, but KG is an infinitely better defender, this is an easy call for me.

PS: Stephen Jackson shut down dirk in the playoffs. :shaq:
the same dirk that led his team to 2 finals..(far as im concerned, 2 finals victories over the heat)...and swhose team disintegrated this season when he was gone for a long stretch.. :dahell:

:laff: :laff: :laff: KG instead of Dirk on any Mavs team would NEVER sniff the finals, Dirk on that celtics squad probably wins 2 more rings than KG
