I mean...rappers really not saying shyt in these dire times:

  • No conscious rappers to discuss how fukked we are living
  • No animated rappers that are on some Luda/Busta shyt with skills
  • All the backpackers are on Bandcamp and hidden from the public
  • Coke raps= Modern day lyrical spirituals
The game is fukked if we keeping it a buck, but it's better to hear how much the weight is moved to some drumless beats vs a bunch of shirtless goofies waving guns and talking about some opps that got smoked :francis:
you summed up exactly how I feel

game is dead, even the good shyt is a snooze fest that we heard already

LB wasnt just not boring they were funny had their own lane and own sound....

in a time (02-08) where things still had fresh diff sounds

Even their after 9th Wonder shyt still holds up. LB and the Justus League were my gang back in the day :wow:. Man the 2000s peaked for Hip Hop on some real shyt:

  • Underground was thriving
  • New York still had their own lane
  • West coast was reforming with Bay Area Thizz tunes
  • The south actually had different sounds beyond Crunk
  • Spittage was necessary even if the dude had weak bars
  • Production was on some elite levels
Man....sighs...I wanna go back breh:mjcry:

Were you going to listen to them talk like women?

Female rappers ain’t never been as big of sellers as men because men don’t listen to female rappers like that, wish y’all would stop fronting like you’d be listening to female rap if they talked about something else. Rhapsody, Dreezy, Tierra Wack, Noname all sitting around going double wood…yet it’s the content that needs to change :stopitslime:
Yea female rappers is like Female comedians

Che noir features are good though

Too much brand image and not enough focus on the freedom of the music. I miss the regionalism of the music. Detroit doing it's thing. The Bay got its sound, but there is an overwhelming amount of trap shyt across the board.

Artists from NY, Cali, Chicago, etc should not be mistaken for an ATL trap artist. There are very subtle differences but not enough to differentiate.

As much as I do not like the NY drill sound, it is distinctive from the rest of rap.

Stopped visiting the booth a while back bc I fell off hip-hop, but whenever I pop in and see these threads, there's nikkas posting music videos that look and sound exactly like this as a rebuttal.
