Well we know Duncan is relevant right now...cause his team has been in title contention for 3 straight years...are very good right now...and he is starting to put up the old timmy numbers right now...

What....exactly...are...the...lakers...doing...right now...

If you had to bet all your money on either the spurs or lakers winning a title this year...who would you pick? How about next year? How about the year after that?

Can the lakers even win a game now with Kobe in the lineup? Doesn't seem like it...

Kobe has played 2 games coming back early off a torn Achilles, he was obviously gonna need to get back adjusted to the game.

And Duncan is obviously on a better team and tony Parker been carrying them nikkas since they last championship.

Kobe needs to be reigned in at all times by Phil.. If Phil isnt there he goes apeshyt and shoots and does his one on one shyt.. He doesn't make anybody better and can't lift his team to new heights.

He better get on his knees and :blessed: he had Shaq and Phil or he would be just like A.I.

You don't think it's a coincidence that last season the Spurs got back to the finals in what was Duncan's best season overall since their last title :patrice:

I'm not in the business of shyttin on Kobe to hype Duncan more btw; Kobe will be fine and back in form soon and hitting his stride come mid late next month :manny:

Do we have to do this every season?

Duncan is playing great, has a great coach that knows Timmy inside and out, and personally has put the pieces around Tim and Tony Parker to bring out the best in the team.

Kobe is coming back from what could've been a career ending injury and has a cast of young, castoff players that are mostly on one year contracts and a coach that really isn't in Pop's stratosphere.

Comparing them now is apples and oranges. Both are great players that really shouldn't be performing as well at their ages. Take the time to appreciate.

You make it sound as if Tony is just dropping 30 pts a night consistently. The offense has always went through Timmy. Always.

When people say Kobe better thank shaq makes me question their knowledge of basketball. Wtf did shaq win without Kobe, it took for Kobe to become a star to take the lakers over the top. And Kobe more than earned his rings but nikkas always wanna start the what if talk.

You say Kobe don't make players better but most players he played with played at their highest level with him including shaq.

Kobe was third in assist among none point guards just last years after lebron and monte Ellis I believe. nikka averaged like 6 assist per game last year.

No I don't think it was a coincidence. Tim played great last year but tony has been carrying them for a min. They are not gonna win anything unless Tim plays great and that's never gonna change, your post really just co signed what I said tho.

So you basically like one of them 9 yr olds in those nfl play 360 commercials talking about "Joe Montana is my GOAT"

No because I have the numbers to back it up, there's videos on YouTube and even full games you can watch on websites. And you can see how he's influenced the way the game is played. I mean look at how Kobe has completely modeled his game after him.

Tony has easy been there most consistent and effective player since they last won a ring.

I'm not gonna say this is not true, because it is. He does NOT however carry the team on his back like you say. He has bad games where Pop benches him and Mills steps in and picks up the load. Or Ginobili takes charge and will's his way to get to the line, get buckets, or get steals that jump starts the offense. It's not like Tony has a bad game automatically means that we loose.

I didn't say that. Every player has bad games and most of the time role players on teams step up when the stars have bad games. When I said that I wasn't talking about a game 2 game basis.

I definitely get your point and that's why I don't compare the load that Duncan and Kobe have had to carry. Duncan, as a big man, has carried it for as long as one would expect a big man to carry a team, a decade and a few years after that. On other other hand, Kobe had the luxury in a sense to not have to be the MAN from the jump like Duncan had to be, but unfortunately he's had to carry the Lakers the moment Shaq left and physically that's tough having to start being the man at 27 and expected to carry that load until the day you retire which he'll be probably 38 and expected to score 25 plus a game :whew:
