Lost in all the hoopla of poeple saying it was the right/wrong decision to trade Harden is the fact that
he was still under contract for the rest of the year. They coulda rolled the dice and went all in for this season again.
For one, I think they'd still make the Finals with this same team, even if Westbrook was hurt. People love to point out his shytty play in the Finals last year, but were these same people saying Cleveland/Miami should trade LeBron after he was awful in his first two Finals appearances?
Martin, a pick in an awful draft and the Mavs pick is pennies on the dollar for a talent like Harden. None of that shyt is gonna replace him. They coulda waited until this offseason to make a decision on him. Amnesty Perk and resign Harden; see how average Ibaka is, ship him out and keep Harden, etc. OKC mangled this situation, when it really wasn't that difficult of a decision.
