How the fuk are these nikkas not legends:mindblown:....same dumb azz nikkas will call Eminem a legend:laff:

Fuk anybody who disagrees with, nobody said shyt about them bein in the goat convo but Jeezy got arguably 4 or 5 classics between the tapes and the albums...TI is the most perfect emcee the south has ever produced far as having no weakness has a undeniable classic, waynes been around a long time and had a impact and has a classic album and mixtape....if they ain't legend I'm about to start snatchin sum certificates of dudes who I've seen called legends on here...they resumes ain't up to par if these nikkas ain't.

They are legends, careers speak for themselves. T.I. didn't invent trap music in my eyes though only thing trap music about that album was the title.
T.I. is more talented than Jeezy, but jeezy impact was ridiculous when he first dropped.

The trap music that's known today is due to young jeezy and shawty red, they brought that sound in and it was fresh at the time, and the hood went crazy off that shyt.
Truth be told the hood don't fukk with T.I. like that, jeezy started the trap sound all these other rappers are his kids.

My only complaint with T.I. even though all his albums are well produced and surprisingly don't sound dated, the content on them is severely lacking, and he really only has a few flows that he uses over and over again. Which is why he kind being thrown to way side, when somebody like Nas hasn't made any shyt anybody who bang in club, is still showing up places being treated like the legend he is, I don't see the same for T.I. outside being an actor.

How does Outkast, UGK, 8Ball and them sound like T.I and Jeezy or how rap has been sounding for the past 8-9 years?

Just cause you're from the south and rap about moving white and everyday life of a street dude? :dead:
It's like saying Dipset is the same as Kool G Rap.

Young Jeezy - I Got What It Takes - YouTube
T.I.-Dope Boyz (EXPLICIT) - YouTube

is not the same as

UGK - Diamonds & Wood - YouTube

Yes Three 6, UGK and them might've been early pioneers of "trap music" but popularizing it and completely changing it, having NY, Cali and everyone blowing it out of their speakers was due to Jeezy and T.I.. Ask someone to name some trap producers. Do you think they will answer Dj Paul, Organized Noize and Pimp C or do you think they will say Lex Luger, Shawty Redd, Drumma Boy, Zaytoven etc.

NY, Cali, and everyone wasn't playing UGK, Outkast, or 3-6 Mafia? Jay-Z did a song with UGK 2 years before TI's first album dropped. :wtf:

Of course they're gonna name those producers. They're newish. That alone will get them mentioned before DJ Paul or Pimp C.

And no it ain't gonna sound the same....again, that shyt is 20ish years old. Kool G Rap and Raekwon rap about the exact same shyt, "Road To The Riches" sounds nothing like "10 Bricks" though.

Matter of fact, let's forget all that. Let's say you're right and they popularized trap, a subgenre of rap. Do you think that alone makes them legends? Legends....among the Ice Cube/Nas/Scarfaces of the world?

I don't know what a legend is to you, but to me you're either a legend or not. Hall of fame or not. Jeezy and T.I. famed the sound of one of the longest reigning musical periods in hiphop history. The impact of their music had stronger impact that some of the most groundbreaking albums in hiphop. That alone gives you legendary status imo.

And just cause you're on a song with Jay-z doesn't mean that everyone is bumping your shyt. All those guys had impact on Jeezy, Wayne and them, and Jeezy, Wayne and them had impact on the everything between 2005-today. You mentioned 4-5 different rappers, to develop your thesis you can only give props to one of them since you have to give it to the one who was first (according to your post). And it's not only what you rap about, it's HOW you rap about it, how it sounds sonically from the production, to the delivery, to the flow, to the words you choose to use, how you structure your rhymes, ad-libs and on and the early styles of UGK are completely different from 2005 - today.

I can't believe nikkas actually doubt Wayne's influence.

Without Wayne circa 06-08, 2 Chainz and Future wouldn't have the styles they have right now. 2 Chainz is more of the Drought 3 Wayne with the charismatic delivery and stupid but clever punchlines and Future with his catchy syruped up autotune shyt..even if you don't like their music they're obviously the 1 and 1a of popular southern street rappers for 2013.

T.I. has managed to keep himself relevant for 10 years (from Trap Muzik to present). And no relevance does not mean that he's still on top. It means that he still manages to put up decent numbers, keep his name in conversations, and is still on the radar. That gives him some longevity. Out of eight albums, he probably has three albums max that are sub-par or wack. He arguably has one classic album. He popularized "trap music" (popularizing and starting it are two entirely different things). In terms of impact, T.I. has two years in which he was the biggest (2006) or one of the biggest artists in rap (2008 only second to Wayne and 2007 in which 50, Kanye, and Jay were bigger).

Jeezy is pending. He had a huge impact with his debut and going into the sophomore album. He's still somewhat relevant, but hasn't hit the big 10 year mark yet. He also helped to popularize "trap music". He really hasn't had a year like T.I. did in 2006 or 2008.

Wayne, despite how you might feel about it, is a legend. Dude debuted in '99 and is bigger now than he was then. He's managed to keep himself relevant for 13 years. The run he's had from '06-'10 (the guest appearances, the mixtapes, the collabo albums) is remarkable. He managed to create a lot of excitement whether you liked him or not, he had people checking for his next move. He's spawned a lot of followers and has had a huge impact.

Jeezy has 1 double plat, 1 gold, 2 plat albums and 2 gold group albums.
Tip has 1 double plat, 4 plat, 1 gold.

So T.I. has moved marginally more and Jeezy's career is 4 years shorter. So I'd not underestimate Jeezy's success even though it's not on Tips level.

And I don't know what you mean by Jeezy is somewhat relevant and T.I. relevant, Jeezy's album moved 700k and T.I. just passed 350k. His song of his mixtape is on the hot100..

Jeezy ain't as good as TI on the mic. To me, Jeezy ain't got no classic anything.

Wayne had a really big run. He can be nice on the mic. But he went too far left lately.

TI I can see.

First set the streets on fire with Streetz is watchin summer 04, later Trap or Die I think it was January 1st 05 and TM101 in the middle of the summer. That run was crazy :to:

Only the real recognizes though :shaq:

One of the few things I remember from back then was how all the cats from the EC were thinking that Jeezy was on some Yung Joc shyt 1 hit, 1 "weak" album and then it's good riddance. Everyone were hating on him until the Go Crazy video with Ghostface stuntin through it and the Jay-z remix and like that half of those nonbelievers were believers.

So I'll give him 8 years. I judge by the album dropping.
