CrimsonTider's batting average in terms of good threads is fukking terrible as always I see. :pachaha:

I'm not sure about being legends, but their longevity (10 yrs plus) and their influence (Trap rap) is noteable.

Of course this only applies to Jeezy and TI imo...Wayne could have been there, but nah.

How does this only apply to Jeezy and T.I., but not Wayne?

Wayne has had a 13 year+ career. T.I. has been it 11 (people didn't catch on until Trap Muzik though). Jeezy has been it for 10, but be real, unless you were riding around to him when he was Lil' J w/ Thuggin' Under the Influence and Come Shop With Me (as Young Jeezy) back in '03, you didn't know Jeezy existed until '04's Trap or Die.

I'm not even a Wayne fan, but Wayne's impact and influence >>>>>>. A great example of his influence (and the Hot Boy$) is T.I.'s recent single "Ball" which is a throwback to that Hot Boy$/Big Tymers era CMR.

Wow this board can really be a riot sometime. All 3 of those artists going to go down as LEGENDS. TI, Jeezy, 50, Wayne, Kanye (hell may even throw Camron in there) were the hiphop/rap heavyweights of the 2000s. Say what you want about their careers now but they carried the torch and put out dope HIGHLY REGARDED music with ACCOMPANYING record sales to back it. Yeah they may not be better than Jay, Nas, Pac, Big but honestly you have to let that go and respect them for what they've done because idk if we're ever gonna get another Jay, Nas, Pac, Big

We're really stretching the definition of legend, to the point where it loses any significance, if we're calling Cam a legend.

I didn't underestimate Jeezy's success. The point I was trying to make is that it's pre-mature to label what he's done as legendary. In comparison to Wayne and T.I., Jeezy's easily #3 .

What I mean by somewhat relevant is this: since T.I. has been out, two of the biggest artists from Atlanta (Future and 2Chainz) and Jeezy himself had T.I. featured on their singles or remixes. True, Jeezy's album moved 700K, but that album is also 1 year and some change old. T.I.'s sold half and it just came out a couple of months ago.
It's not premature, he changed the rap game and was and still is the leading artist in trap music. A subgenre he "created"/"changed"/"revitalized". Dudes impact is so huge that he (due to Meech of course) changed the strip club game.

You can't only talk about sales or how long you've been hot.
Cause Jeezy moved more than most 80s and 90s legends in times of free downloading and streaming services. And has been commercially relevant for just or longer than most of them.

TI is Jeezys nikka, Jeezy also had Plies and Warren G on his singles.
So recruiting someone for your singles doesn't necessarily mean that they are "hotter", if that's what you are saying.

Somewhat relevant is still a funny term, he moved more than all the so called relevant artists excluding the Jiggas, Kanyes and Ymcbs. Unless you're indicating that you need a platinum album to be relevant in 2013.

I think if you look at what makes a good southern rapper, it would be safe to call all three legends. They've had street buzz and commercial success that's lasted long enough to make careers. Think about that mid 2000's era when southern rap was huge and all the rappers that came out around that time. These are the only ones who lasted the longest.

When it comes to Pop/Corporate Rap all three are legends.

When it comes to Hip Hop all three are FAR from legends.

Only in Hip Hop you can be a "legend" while sucking at it :manny:

I'm talking about Wayne.

:snoop: U obviously have been spoonfed Corporate America's take on Hip Hop.

TI/Jeezy/Wayne have made very little if any Hip Hop records in their careers so they aren't considered legends in Hip Hop.

AGain...what df does that mean..?

Since when were u the gatekeeper that decided what is hip hop and what isnt.

WHen legends such as Nas and Jay will say otherwise.

nikka have u even paid attention to hip hop in the last decade and more specifically..their careers?

Cut the crap and also cut the nonsense...at the end of the day..it doesnt matter if u enjoy these 3 artists or not...what matters is impact.

The people decide who the legends are and these 3 artists have made an impact that in the future when their careers are over either by death or retirement..they will be regarded as legends

Alot of u :flabbynsick: nikkaz lack the ability to think things a lil more objectively when topics call for it.:wow:

A lot of you :wrist: niccas lack the ability to differentiate between Hip Hop and Pop/Corporate Rap since you've been raised on music that has been dictated by Corpotate America/Music Industry/Hollyweird the last 15 or so years.

Good post. As said, without Wayne, there's no Drake, Wiz, Asap, 2 Chainz, etc and without Jeezy, there's no Yo Gottis and even Rick Ross. And T.I took that trap shyt worldwide. Regardless of the quality of the music over the past 3 or 4 years, these 3's (and Kanye's) influence is all over the industry right now. I'd even say Drake but he got popular from being a Weezy and Yeezy hybrid....

Drake had the mixtape game on fire before he even hooked up with Wayne. He didn't get that 7 figure deal for nothing
