Only the artists at the press conference have a share. According to what I've read, their goal is to have much better payout to all artists whose music is streamed on there, instead of the paltry earnings they receive from similar apps for their work.

Everyone focuses on the major artists at the forefront, but fail to see that this will be great for small, and especially independent artists, who will see maximum profits, as they won't have a major label taking a cut.
I just read that they have higher royalty percentage and jay said they have a discovery program but I don't know what that entails.
I guess we just have to wait and see, the buzz is definitely huge right now.

One thing that's pissing me off about this tidal thing is that people keep saying Spotify is free. Last time I checked I pay $9.99 a month. Do you brehs just listen to random songs on spotify with all those adds:scust::scust::scust:
I just listen to youtube/ iTunesradio/ iTunes internet radio/ and anything that is free. I like the model of buying tracks and albums and listening to them whenever and however. I like a visual element when listening to music at home. I have specific taste and like to listen to specific parts. Steaming music just hasn't gotten my full attention yet.

If the radio didn't play such shytty music and popular hits it would be the best thing out. Its much more fun listening to local ads and radio segments between music than some of those streaming ads

1-CD's may have been made in 1982 but, there was very little music on them at the time. You know this, why are you playing games?

2-ok?

3-I was a DJ, mixtapes were the main format because most people didn't have CD players for the CDs, they mostly had tapes, hence mix tapes being so big. I remember in 1997/1998 is when thingsmstarted changing in a large number.

Read what I wrote. Black, Latins, and some Asians, I didn't write everybody.

So let's get this straight... Playstation was nikkas first CD players, despite CD players being available for 10 years before that.

You were a DJ, and things didn't start changing til 97-98 :heh:

But unfortunately, people who choose to speak the truth are generally in the red. :beli:

There is no way you was around then because, you would know how it was. The equipment wasn't cheap, and even CDs cost more then tapes, so a lot of people had to go with tapes because it was cheaper. Both tapes, and equipment.

You just showed me you either was living in a well to do area, and had no friends who weren't well off, or you are repeating what you read on goggle, forgetting the fact that MONEY was the barrier to a lot of technology then. I really thought you was an old head who was actually around the things he post about. You got me good:umad:

Its not by itself, but when you show off the speakers, the amp, etc, and then have someone who uses Spotify, or google, use tidal to find what they want, then they hear how it sounds, it will be you stunting on them because they have none of the shyt, and it sounds way better then theirs. Again, its the whole setup, not just tidal by itself.

For example, if someone buys a rich watch but everything else is regular, the watch means very little. But, if you wear the same watch with some nice shoes, nice clothes, and a luxury car, the watch adds to you stunting on these hoes. People just don't understand this. That's why I laugh when I see cats with expensive shoes or watches, and don't have everything else, they are showing they really dont have shyt. That ain't stunting, thats fronting.
Some of those expensive items are worth the price. The production cost and quality are better. Back in the day, products where a lot more expensive then they are now.

How the fukk could you not afford a CD Player, but could afford a Playstation?

One is for games to play, and the other is for music, everyone is not that much into music to justify paying for a CD player. A gaming system, you can play games, music, and the games can be played with your friends for months. A CD is good for a few days, if you aren't into music like that. The fact that you don't know this, is showing me I need to stop even arguing with you, I'm arguing with someone who has no idea how things were, and just imagining how it should have been.

What you know about that golden gun :sas2:? That controller and overall system was wack but I loved goldeneye and it was another game I forgot the name of.

I remember there was a guy with a white top hat that ran around and I'd spray him with that golden gun haha. :ehh: I remember doing paintball mode on there too

Part of the reason why I just DO not really pay for music. I'll pay for your merch, pay to see you, pay for anything else. But this is a pipe dream for many small artists.

fukk I look like paying some monkey suit for something another person put their soul into. Let me hear the music then pay to see you tour, cuz I at least know you see more of that money.

Music isn't something you should be doing to get rich. That's what fukked the game up.

No one told you that there's a free Spotify version? :dead:

I have premium but back in the day I used the free version extensively. There's a way around the ads, but y'all ain't ready for the cheat code :damngoodcoffee:

Ok you just gotta change the song before it ends, that way you never hear ads. It's a bit of a bytch when you start off but you get used to it. But maybe they found that loophole in the few months since I've been on premium :manny:

I know about the free version but it doesn't let you listen to a whole album. Maybe just one or two songs and then it starts throwing in random sonGs from other artists and stuff. Premium you can listen to whatever you want. I know I can download illegally but Sprint gave me 3 months free and I got used to having everything with the tap of a button.

Tidal could simply fix this by offering more content

you add some audio books, videos, and even regular books in conjunction with hi-fi audio. Grab exclusives and a few features and it doesn't sound as bad.
