No an African does not.. Multiple people have stake in it. But hey, keep fishing for daps. And just because a black person is the face of a business venture doesn't mean they can't be criticized. If anything, the criticism will help out the developers to deliver a product the average consumer will be interested in at an affordable price.

Every app or tech company receives or has recieved backlash by consumers. Whoever wrote this article is a consumer just like us. The criticism is valid.

i agree with this but since ur a pawg u shouldn't be talking like this

its not a good look

I can't front I listening to albums in my car on tidal and that shyt is banging son. I won't sub after the month simply cause I already pay for iTunes Match which is 20 dollars a year and they match all on music in your iTunes collection

But I can hear difference between Apple cd quality and tidal, it's a big difference tbh and I felt the same when I have studio headphones on

Before downloading and streaming, artists got a larger slice. But obviously the long term plan is for this to basically replace records labels as much as Jay wants to deny it.
That's why I don't think as is that its a sound long term business model.. The concept of record labels whether brick and mortar or digital is regressive..

I think its telling of the companies shareholders are in their late 30s, 40s and 50s...

My daughter and her 14 year old friends have never lived in a world where music wasn't free.

That's a whole generation that needs to be convinced a dinosaur model is in their best interest.. I feel like Pandoras Box has been open and its too late.. It's almost like bringing back prohibition after 20 years of a good party with free liquor..

The fact that this was framed as a history making revolution for ALL was pretty naive and silly..

You ain't gotta lie to kick it my n1gga

That is your problem. There is always a bigger target, and some targets are easier to take out than others. It's not a misdirection on their part, it's an initial step. You don't say that shutting down a prison that is exploiting prisons is pointless just because the bigger target is rewriting the laws entirely. You're somehow trying to make spotify into a casual bystander here. The labels themselves have been arguing with spotify for higher pay outs. You keep going back and forth between trying to talk about the music industry and how it was marketed to justify your dislike. Just say you dislike the way it was rolled out, which I do to and be done with it.
that's not comparable at all, these streaming services aren't exploiting anyone, artists are free to not have their music on there, and they give payouts to the label who i doubt are fighting for more royalties just to give it to their artists. i could see if these companies were posting apple and google like profits, but they're not. if streaming is such terrible burden on artists/the industry, they could have it shut down in weeks, but they're not, because minuscule revenue >> none. i have no problem with people trying to find ways to make it more profitable, but i'm also not going to sympathize with the artists for reasons i already posted.

to the last point, i have stated repeatedly that i don't like their approach for a variety of reasons, one being their simplified attack of the business models of the incumbents. i like how people are trying to tell me how i should be looking at their approach and motives....um, no, i'll dissect it for myself and respond with how i feel about it.

music is a vehicle to sell other products.

use music to make yourself popular and then make songs for brands to use in their commercials...or use your music to sell your own products. music is just a way to gain popularity to sell other things...even the hos on instagram figured that out with posting scantily clad pictures to get attention to sell their work-out videos and whatnot.

people care about spending money on food and experiences. kids music budget is going toward fast causal dining like wingstop (smart move by rick ross), chiptole, panera etc now in days. music gets the party started and tells some experiences...but noone really cares any more unless you are a full fledge brand/lifestyle/have a story.

i feel like prime 50cent could get records sales in this climate because he came with a story/lifestyle that people found interesting...they wanted to hear his story so they buy his products in support of the story. he was a larger than life super-thug.
