No, it is the exact issue here. The problem with Tidal is trying to sell itself through celebrity endorsements and supports, instead of its tech.

No other popular app or successful tech company does this.

This x a million.

When Apple releases a new iPhone theh have developers up on stage talking that geek talk and then everyone is like "ohhhh the new iPhone has this, this and this"

All we know about tidal and the only offering it has is celebrity backing, expensive, for audiophiles and eats up your data. That's the general consensus and scoop.

Why can't they make more money from their label???? :dwillhuh: They streaming the shyt out of these artists songs and they getting pennies where as Tidal offers high quality music with more money to artists.

You should be supporting that shyt wtf is wrong with yall. fukk these record companies breh.

I don't think you understand what Tidal is. Its not about artists getting more money from the label/corporations its about artists collecting more money from fans/consumers

Its like Jay Z saying instead of asking for more than 3 percent of albums sales what if we just made CD's cost 30 dollars. Theyre done fighting with the labels...and the labels won :mjcry:

that's the exact point people have made, spotify/pandora are not the culprits in the low pay to artists, the labels that pocket the money are. i already posted that artist have been complaining about their slice of the pie since the industry was born...i don't buy this stance against the incumbents when their beef should be with the label/the contracts they sign. i also don't care to see a collection of the highest paid, most powerful, highest selling, highest net worth artists come together and act like i'm supposed be saddened by their plight of being paid .0012 cent per stream...gtfoh.

Before downloading and streaming, artists got a larger slice. But obviously the long term plan is for this to basically replace records labels as much as Jay wants to deny it.

So why all the backlash regarding this service is it because it's from Jay Z and not Josh Gawkiskshkb
I think you are just sensitive becuz you are a Jay Z fan. :yeshrug:

Like somebody said earlier there is backlash to new products all the time especially when celebrities get involved. But if you have never heard of Time Magazine you probably wouldn't be aware of it...

coli level posting here. breh, if you want to cry yourself to sleep knowing jay z only earns 10k a year from streaming, do you. the whole artists need to see more money is not something i as a consumer need to finance. i

stated in another thread, common everyday folk are making less than they would've three decades ago for the same jobs, everybody's pockets are slimmer, i can't come to care that a man with $500M is angered by low pay for streams when i see college graduates having to rely on government assistance.

and as i said, they we're still complaining about that slice, this is nothing new, so i don't give a fukk. the beef is with the labels, artists need to focus on life without labels, but having the most established, successful artists be the face of this movement aren't necessarily the people consumers can rally behind in feeling like, "yea, you deserve more"
