You know . . before the "I dumbed down for my audience to double my dollars" was put into play
I greatly enjoy Reasonable Doubt but I never considered anything in it to be lyrically impressive. So I'm wondering what examples come to mind when you think of impressive lyrics from Jay and was he more noted for his lyrical ability or the content of work
I agree. While clever, Jay z never blew me away with any rhymes. His word play was never anything that I felt was special. I think him being a superior lyricist is something that he and his fans put out there just like when he proclaimed Reasonable Doubt being a certified classic.
by Jay's lyrics.
You just prefer simple/straight to the point shytCan I live is his lyrical masterpiece IMO.
But I agree. He's said shyt that made me chuckle, but I've never beenby Jay's lyrics.
he's not profoundly dope to me like a Scarface/Pac.....He's more "fun"/superficially dope.
Wordplay...double/triple meanings and all that shyt lost it's luster around the time I was a Jr in high school.
I could see how a juvenile mind could think it's the dopest shyt ever, tho![]()

You just prefer simple/straight to the point shyt
Face/Pac have never been this profoundly dope
