Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman, and Damien Woody dissect New England Patriots QB Tom Brady. Stephen A. says he is the best leader and player in the NFL despite his love for Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. Max Kellerman on the other hand says he wasn’t even better than the Kansas Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes in the 2018 AFC Championship Game.

Is Brady the GOAT in your opinion? It is 1A/1B with Joe Montana imo.

People gonna say Brady is the GOAT now but it's different eras. Montana had a career passer rating of 92.3 in the 80s and early 90s where QBs had zero protection. They were literally getting their heads caved in all over the field.

Brady has the longevity in part because he is protected by the new rules. Keep this in mind. Montana was 4-0 in the Super Bowl. He threw 11 TDs and zero interceptions. Not one mistake made ever in a Super Bowl.

If Montana didn't get hurt and the Niners didn't have Steve Young another HOF QB waiting to take over Montana would have probably had that 5th ring in the '94 season or maybe more than that :manny:

That's why it is 1A and TB with me. I think you can make a case for Brady as well as Montana...

Montana had two seasons where he attempted more than 500 passes. Brady has 5 seasons where he attempted more than 600 passes.

Can you imagine Joe Montana passing 600 times in that era. One of two things would happen. He'd either throw over 5000 yards every season or his career would have been even shorter :mjlol:

That's how much the game has changed. Niners won 5 Super Bowls from 1981-1994. Some of that is with Young. Patriots have won 5 Super Bowls from 2001-2018. The only difference now is the added longevity.

Young couldn't keep the dynasty going because he too suffered major concussions and had to retire.

Brady played 269 games and still going. Five rings. Montana had four rings in 192 games. It's not "hate" to point out the differences in eras. It's like when people sit around here and talk about hand checking and analytics with the NBA past and present.

There's nothing Brady does that Montana didn't do and couldn't do. Brady might be the GOAT but to dismiss Joe is foolish.

that hit Joe took from LT in 1990, LT would probably be suspended for two years in todays game

what if game don't work breh. brady is basically montana + young's career in 1 and some. just think about that.

and give brady/beli that niners roster, pats might never lose :mjlit:

imagine things brady would do with jerry rice. we saw it when he played with randy moss.

montana was great, but NFL has exponentially became more complex and talent pool is insane. brady passed with him seahawks SB.
