its just always been in comparison to Astroturf. This is HS level so take it with a grain of salt, but I've played on field turf at detroit country day (:pacspit:) and astroturf at the silverdome and A1 primo grass at Muskegeon Reeth's Puffer...field turf is better than astro but good grass trumps all and feels better.

"It's as close to natural grass as artificial turf can be" on some Tha Realist/2pac shyt.

no artificial surface can properly recreate the way a grass field gives and has just the right amount of traction.... and that's probably the biggest difference, especially when it comes to cutting, going in out of breaks and breaking down for tackles.

Even the rapist agree's field turf is trash.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...berger-blames-fieldturf-for-decastros-injury/

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger blames the surface at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo for the injury to his teammate,David DeCastro.

DeCastro, the guard the Steelers selected in the first round of this year’s draft, suffered what the Steelers fear is a severe knee injuryagainst the Bills. And Roethlisberger said afterward that he doesn’t think DeCastro would have suffered that injury on a grass field.

“It’s just FieldTurf — this is a great field, but FieldTurf is just killing guys because they can’t get their feet out of the ground,” Roethlisberger said on NFL Network after the game. “It’s just another reason we should get rid of FieldTurf.”

Although FieldTurf is almost universally considered a big improvement over the old-school AstroTurf, which was basically like playing on fuzzy green concrete, players are mixed about whether FieldTurf is as good as grass. Some players, like Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, have said grass should be ripped out and replaced with FieldTurf. Others, like former Jets nose tackle Kris Jenkins, have said they dislike FieldTurf so much that they would only play for a team that had grass.

Roethlisberger is strongly in the anti-FieldTurf camp. After Saturday night’s injury, DeCastro may be, too.

UPDATE, AUGUST 27: Roethlisberger’s rant at FieldTurf was misdirected: The Bills actually use a different type of artificial surface, A-Turf Titan.

You're wrong because you said big schools are moving to fieldturf to save money and its literally the opposite; small schools are.

Shut up n1gga. Fukk u too. I was trying to be civilized with u and u took my kindness fir weakness. :pacspit:

You are distracting me from my original point, MORE SCHOOLS play on field turf. THE END.

I cant converse with you. That dude megatron always quotes me and starts arguments that shouldnt even be. He makes up his own facts. Thats my issue with him.

Now for u, MORE PEOPLE ARE GETTING INJURED ON IT BECAUSE MORE PEOPLE PLAY ON IT.

I'm sure devastating injuries occur on Grass too, but the numbers MAY BE more skewed because MORE PEOPLE PLAY ON FIELD TURF.

I.ve heard different arguments. Some people prefer field turf. I myself have only walked on field turf, I never played on it, so :yeshrug:

Do you understand what a percentage is? As in, a higher percentage of non impact injuries are happening on field turf...I can make it less complex if needed. You seem to be a very simple person...

"It not only provides us with a state-of-the art playing surface that can hold up to challenging weather conditions but it also allows the stadium to be more of a multi-use facility," said Jim Baker, UT Associate Athletics Director/Events and Operations. "It gives us a lot of flexibility when it comes to practicing on the field, using it for camps and band practices and also allows us to be in a position to host more playoff games and events."

This is what I mean by using the field for things other than Home Games.

Having a multipurpose field does save money in the long run. How can u think Big Schools arent in it for the money too?

Maybe people are just getting bigger and stronger and the injuries come with this new level of physical ability and strength.

Wake.
nikkas would rather play on field turf than shytty grass like half the teams in the league have. I can count on one hand teams who have a natural grass field that's always on point rather than that trash the Redskins, Eagles, Steelers, 49ers play on.

Especially when teams like the steelers have HS and NCAA games played on their turf.

All I know is it was refreshing to watch that Northwestern/Ohio St game being played on grass that long.

Personally, with the amount of money generated by college and pro football, there's no reason to not be able to keep the natural grass surface wel maintained.
