He completely validated the point he was making on Twitter and everywhere else after the Solomon battle. He forms his rounds to fit his opponent and breaks them down. The Solomon battle suffered in quality because he didn't have many great angles and it was too long, but he still had a clear victory. Even if the battle was terrible, a lot of that was because he had to spread it over 25 minutes and there isn't much ammo to hit Iron with.

I thought he got lucky then because Solomon was so bad, but it's clear he'll break down any opponent he's in there with. Maybe it's reactionary, but I don't think anyone except Charlie Clips has a chance to clearly beat him, because Clips doesn't ever seem to get rattled, can keep up with any style, be lyrical, and clown Mook at the same time. I even think Mook would destroy Math and turn the whole gun/staples situation against him and body him, and that's without the Dizaster angle.

I read some people call for Hollow vs. Mook on Twitter, but I'd take Mook there. I can't say Hollow, because he'd probably drop the ball in the first, take some weird angles that won't work, and end up down 2-0 before he realizes it. And that's coming from a Big fan of Hollow. He's got a lot to prove against Clips.

The thing that blows my mind is the absolute and total lack of vision when it comes to an event like this, and that's what's so worrisome about corporate involvement. The knee jerk, cliche capitalistic urge to have "names" attract attention to an event is cancerous. Neither Sway nor Ebro should be anywhere near an event like this. They know nothing at all about the culture, about the individual battlers, about context. Smack might have trouble speaking in complete sentences at times, but his lack of "hosting" is a strength. Battle Rap does not need a fukking host. And even if you felt there was a need for a host, why do you get a nikka who can't pronounce his words and doesn't know his terms and in general has the charisma of rotting pumpkin?

The stage setup, the crowd setup, and the mic issues - outrageous. If you're going to pump money into advertising the event, you can't assemble a staff to do something as basic as spending a few days researching battle rap via youtube and figuring out what has historically worked best? Then configure the venue for an optimal experience? This is not that fukking difficult.

On another note, I have no idea how Daylyt is still amusing some of y'all. He won me over when he put together a string of dope battles, but at this point I have zero interest in ever seeing this lame nikka battle again. Dressing up in clown suits and pulling paper poop caricatures out of his boxers isn't fukking provocative, conceptually intriguing, dope, quilliant, or anything else except loserish and stupid. I hope a blood shoots him a drive-by.

Got in at 5am, and watched the full stream on youtube

Just when you think u missed out on a big event, fukkery prevails and the whole event was on youtube within hours

That being said, these battles were kind of trash. Joey surprised the hell out of me tho. Hollow isnt as good as everyone thinks he is.hes hit and miss and ive been saying that for a while.

As far as mook vs lux, im not sure what everyones talkin about, i didnt find this battle entertaining at all. Mook was still kind of trash to me. Kind of like the iron battle. Lux still had them metaphors and dope lines but i nikka still on that lost nikka shyt?

I was too high to watch any other battle hopefully the stream is still up

Overall this event seemed like one big mook vs iron battle. shyt just dragged on and seemed akward as hell.

The set up was wack, eminem not being there was wack as fukk. That dude is too hollywood for me FOH white boy. You cant take a few hours out of your day for this event?

How is a battle from 2 years ago the reference point? That's like using the Solomon battle to judge Mook by. There's too many other great performances to judge him on since then. And even then, Clips' first was crazy in that battle. He's gotten better with each battle,and that's crazy considering he 3-0'd Verb in his comeback debut.

Clips has shown consistency and versatility throughout his run. He has all those same skills Hollow has, except his bars hit way more often. And Mook will still litter his rounds with those weak punches. That's going to hurt him.

Hopefully Total Slaughter doesn't completely disappear, because they have the $ to make these big battles. They just need to fix a lot of things.

Yall might not like him but he is a big reason why battle rap got to where it has now.

The first battles I ever cared about (in the current format Atleast) almost always involved him.
