Love Vegas. Over the top, gaudy hotels, that extra oxygen, lights and sounds of the casino. Spas, restaurants, shows, pools, shopping, bars…ain’t into clubbing no more but the club scene back in the 00’s and early 10’s going to breakfast before heading back to your hotel at 7/8am :banderas: oh man, and the fukkery of being out there for work trips/conventions.

Edit: and all star weekend Vegas will forever be a top 5 memory

Same. But I genuinely thought it was a fun family experience and I felt like I was having fun in the hotel. As a kid I was a little suspicious about why we never went to any of the amusement parks during our "family" Vegas trips but I thought my folks just forgot .

I swear I was a grown man planning my own adult trip to Vegas , as I realized that they basically just ditched me and my siblings in the hotel room to go play poker. :mjlol:
:laff: :laff:

I remember my grandma staying with me at night in the hotel rooms.

I moved to Vegas back in January and it does feel really slow.

I love it here tho......Much better than living in Philly. High end shopping, restaurants, nature (red rock), boxing, just endless things to do......I have a pool in my downtown condo and I'm close to the arts district and Fremont, 10 minutes from the strip, 15 minutes from Summerlin.

I'm probably never moving back to the east coast.

Just got back from there a few weekends ago. Flamingo pool party and NBA Summer League :ahh:

I know a lot of people hate Vegas but I love it, we always have a great time. I can definitely understand why tourism would be declining though, we ALWAYS spend a grip there. Hard to find tables under $25 minimums on the strip, mixed drinks are $25 each, rooms getting more expensive and they stingier with the comps, restaurants more expensive.

People just ain't got it in this economy.

You need to join a rewards program, to save you money. I'm in a rewards program and I get comp rooms all the time, room credits and discounts on shows. It depends on the hotel but I get comp rooms for 5 days.

I gamble and always leave vegas on the positive side, and I always use my players card. We also rarely eat on the strip, we always go outside the strip to support Black business in vegas (Gritz, court cafe, bleu's kitches, Braud's Funnel Cak, Hattie Mary's, etc)

Vegas is struggling, even the 304's working the carpet looking broke and struggling. The 304's be sharing Whataburger combos and sharing drinks and shyt, clothes be cheap looking.. those 304's are down bad lol

It's embarrassing now, but us kids were just happy to watch HBO in the hotel room, I still remember us singing to Mulan and Aladin in the room while Mom and Dad were having fun on the casino floor
:russ:

Didn't even occur to me to go down :mjcry:

Why the decline? Because private equity happened.

Private equity said fukk the budget-friendly Vegas vacation of the 80s, 90s, 2000s and early 2010s. They cut costs on everything while simultaneously making everything 10x more expensive.

When all the juice is sucked out of the fruit, the private equity parasite will move on to its next victim and Vegas will be a decaying carcass of what it once was, similar to what happened to Atlantic City.
This can be presented well as a South Park episode
