I guarantee he'll submit that. He kinda has to, it's the only episode where his acting is :whoo: head and shoulders above the rest of the series.

Therein lies the dilemma. McConaughey's entire performance is hinged on his transformation, which the judges won't see. And IMO Cranston's performance in "Ozymandias" is, at the very least, as good as "Form And Void", if not better.

Fred.

I've always wondered about that. You really think those judges haven't seen the whole series?:usure: And if they have, how can they possibly separate that when making a decision?

so you honestly believe that other actors, directors, writers are all in on this lie??

that magazine critics, internet critics, bloggers are all in on this??

and then the fans who watched each and every episode multiple times, are all lying too??

and also the people who read the scripts and joined up... hbo who paid money for this... etc etc... all lying??

:stopitslime:

could it be possible that maybe it was a great show.. and that people actually did understand and like the dialogue.. and that it was a good plot and story to watch play out? that's not possible tho right :comeon:
Lying about what? I said it was overrated. Nothing I said means that it couldn't be a good show. It's just that it wasn't AS well written as people made it out to be. It's one thing if people are commenting on the show and saying it's good. But all those bloggers, other actors, etc etc, were OBSESSING over the show simply because they had to go and do "research" after the show was over. The show sent people on a wild goose chase and had them buying books on Amazon and all this nonsense and that made it seem like there was more to the show than it was. And because of that, all of a sudden people are trying to claim how masterfully written it was. It's ridiculous.

Oh and one more thing I need to clarify.

This isn't "series vs series". They only nominate 1 episode for each category. So for Best Actor McConaughey would probably submit "Form And Void" for his break down at the end of the series. Which on the one hand is a great choice....but the critics won't see his transformation from '95 Rust to Crash to '02 Rust to '12 Rust. So his epic transformation will be lost on the judges....which is obviously a huge strike against his chances of winning.

For Best Drama "True Detective" will most likely go with "Who Goes There" aka the 6 minute tracking shot. They'd be nuts not to.

Cranston for Best Actor will most likely go with "Ozymandias" for obvious reasons....and for Best Drama go with "Ozymandias". They could submit "Ozymandias" across the board really.

The series was dope but nothing touching what Bryan did in "Ozymandias". He should get it off of that episode alone.

Breaking Bad should have ended after Season 4. Only good memorable episode in season 5 was that Ozymandias. True Detective Season 1 shyt on all of BB season 5.
keep telling these fucboys that, Braking bad was cool up until that last wack season.

One could say the same about True Detective :ehh:

Episode's 4 & 5 is where the show the truly peaked, and then became up it's own ass near the end of the season.

it's such a ballsy move by HBO but i love it. they woulda swept miniseries category.

it'll be real interesting.. before this i'd have said bb is gonna sweep.. i think matthew might take it, but i still think bb wins best drama. cranston hasn't won since s3 so keep that in mind.

well first of all, you're kinda wrong

so the judges will see some of the series as well, cause they still have to judge the series as well... not to mention, who in the fukk would watch one episode, and that's it.. i know it's what they are SUPPOSED to do.. but do you think these people live in a bubble?? they watch tv, some of these shows, and being a judge, probably watch all this shyt, same as normal people

Actually it's both. For the series win 6 episodes are submitted.

For the actor, it's a single episode like I said. And it's not necessarily the same judges across the board. Writers judge writing, etc.

And no, I seriously doubt the judges watch 30+ episodes of TV every award season, which they'd have to do. Would you watch "Dexter" for 6 episodes, knowing damn well it has zero chance of winning any category? Would you watch "Downton Abbey", if it didn't appeal to you?

This article even says it's not strictly enforced that the judges watch any of the episodes they're given:

@Venem

Actually, 6 episodes are submitted but it's not to one person or group of judges:

Then things get serious. Judges are chosen from each peer group to cast the final vote on who wins. Just who are these judges? No one will tell you. The Academy selects them in a secret process, and they are only allowed to serve two consecutive years as a judge in a category. The acting categories have between 50 and 75 judges. Acting nominees get to choose one episode from the season to submit to judges for consideration, and we take it on faith that they watch them. They rank their top choices in each category, with the actor they think is “best” getting a “1” vote. The second best gets a “2,” and so on. Every actor has their number tallied, and the one with the lowest final number wins. The series category works similarly, though there are three different judging committees, each made up of between 250 to 300 voters. Series get to submit two episodes for consideration.

They submit 6 eps which is divided between 3 judging committees. So 2 eps each. Which, like I said, doesn't help "True Detective" or McConaughey at all.
