Was talking to somebody about this yesterday. He was saying that some teams should just be happy with making the playoffs and not getting a ring. shyt had me like :dwillhuh: cause im always thinking "fukk That, If You Dont Win It All You Won Nothing". Cant see MJ/Kobe/Nick Saban/Jim Harbaugh being happy with just making it which is what makes them so great. How does the coli feel?

For Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, Wade etc.. the expectation is championship

For Kyky, Harden, Aldridge, etc... just making the playoffs is enough

For them maybe, what about for their coach tho? "Just making the playoffs" is the reason you have them not in the Bron & Kobe tier. They dont have the mindset of a Kobe/Lebron/MJ

EXACTLY my point. You Cant Write A Team Off By Just Saying "They Aren't Contenders"

All teams don't have the same philosophy. So you trying to tell me the Cleveland Browns or the Washington Wizards gonna have expectations of winning a title? Teams who have come close to winning or have won recently should have that mindset.

Exactly. For example, look at Bron's career. At first, he was on some pretty awful teams. The goal was first to get to a level where the Cavs could start making the playoffs regularly, then competing for championships regularly. Winning titles should be the end goal, but for some squads, it obviously has to be a process and won't be done in one year.

Yeah. I'm not saying you should be "happy" and throw a paried and go prop your feet up and act like you are the best because you made the playoffs.

But saying you can't be a little proud or yourself for getting to the playoff or getting pretty far in the playoff with out winning the championship is crazy.

They should. You see how many coaches they've been through in the past 10 years. People were the same about the 49ers/Seahawks before Pete & Harbough changed the team mindset.

That's what is messed up in our society. Some people and teams need to stay in their lane. That's why society is so depressed and do drugs and shyt because they can't grasp that they are just average and no matter how much they try they can never be the best.

You're looking at it in a messed up way.

In sports, you'll have your winners, contenders, mediocre teams, and bottom feeders. Where you're wrong is that certain teams don't always need to stay in certain lanes. Those teams would ask you "why not us?" Why can't the Pelicans strive to be better than what they are one day? Why would it be a bad thing if the Bobcats were competing for a championship? Stuff like that.

If you're a sports organization and have to grasp the idea that they're just average and no matter how much they try they can never be the best, you might as well not be in the league because one way or another your organization will crumble.

I think we all are on different subject here. Ya'll are acting like everyone teams ceiling every year is the same or potential to win a championship is the same. Because it's not.

SS is using all the teams and people in his example who have or have some what of a lookers chance of winning a title. He is not using teams with the worse players in the league, acting like they aren't trying. I've seen many people who have tried harder then champions and still never beat them.

The 49ers have a history of winning championships and their mindset wasn't always been championship or bust. Seattle just started having the mindset in the past few years because they started being contenders

you can look at it anyway you want. You can dream, you can work hard you can strive you can do whatever you want. But at the end of the day when your career is over and you have won nothing. Doesn't mean your didn't do well or can't be a little proud at your accomplishments.

You can have championship or bust on your mind every year doesn't mean anything at the end of the day if you don't win.

Both were trash before the Harbaugh & Carroll came bringing with them the Championship Mentality

no I don't and you don't deal with kids sports the same you do in pro sports.

I'm not talking about kids. we are talking about grown men who have to look at themselves in the mirror everyday and just say to themselves. "did I give all that I could give today" if you did and didn't win a championship, it was still a good day
