The 479
LeBron’s performance in the 2015 Finals can kind of overshadow how good that GSW team was. They’ve achieved as much as they should have. 1 title in 2 seasons of serious contention? They did as much as they could have before choking in ‘16.

Edit: 1 title in 2 seasons of serious contention before Durant I mean.

False they should have 3 rings. If Harrison Barnes got benched in 2016 finals they would have won

I see what OP is saying, the Warriors success pre-Durant does seem remarkable since they didn't have an overwhelming talent advantage like they do now.

OUTSIDE OF OKC IN 2016

WHO DID THEY BEAT
THAT THEY SHOULDNT HAVE?

THEY FACED 2 LEGIT TEAMS
IN 2 YEARS
AND THAT WAS IN THE SAME SEASON
(2016 CAVS & OKC)

LETS NOT OVERRATE THIS RUN
LIKE THEY CLEARLY WERENT
MORE TALENTED THAN ALL THOSE OTHER TEAMS THEY FACED.

not at all an attempt. it wasnt widespread but as I said we discussed it. some of us said absolutely he could lead the league in scoring others said he possibly could on a down year for scoring. nevertheless his potential to score 25ppg plus was there. Dray, same thing not wide spread but AFTER the draft there were a lot that viewed him as a steal, solid rotation player and possible great NBA 6th man. if you go back and look at Harrison Barnes combine interviews that was just a taste of the hype surrounding GSW as a potential contender with the caveat they stay healthy because they had so many injuries with Steph ankle and Bogut, etc...

There were threads about Curry potential on here although I agree not many. Blackthoughts/GOAT and Gil discussed curry a few time before the warriors blew up
Well yeah on the coli there's some amount of hype or thread for pretty much everyone and thing. There's Waiters stans that have made multiple threads gassing him, etc. But on other sites with specific "who's the future" threads, predictions from places like Bleacher Report, etc. practically no one had Curry as a top 15-20 player, let alone one of the best in the league.

The Yay

DUDE NO ONE CARES ABOUT THAT REGULAR SEASON shyt.

THEY WENT 3-0 AGAINST OKC IN THE REGULAR SEASON
AND WERE DOWN 3-1 NEEDING A MIRACLE PERFORMANCE
JUST TO SURVIVE.

my point is you cant say shyt like 'things aligned perfectly' in your playoffs narrative, as in they overachieved going into finals twice on some 'hot in playoffs' shyt...and conveniently ignore nearly 140 wins in those two regular seasons.

you can use it for teams like the Giants in 2007 or 2011 in the NFL, not the Warriors who dominated the league throughout and lost one playoff series and 25 regular season games over the span of two years

They got extremely lucky with injury breaks and weak playoffs. But they won so it is what it is. Kerr elevated curry from allstar to superstar

DUDE THEY DIDNT FACE 1 LEGIT TEAM IN 2015.
EVERYTHING DID LINE UP PERFECTLY.
EASIEST TITLE RUN EVER.

WHEN THEY FINALLY FACED 2 LEGIT TEAMS IN 2016
THEY WENT 7-7 IN THOSE 2 SERIES.

THEY DIDNT DOMINATE shyt.
