none of Nas albums from 2020 onward are classic you guys cant be serious
you can rewind it a full decade before that. None of Nas albums after 2010 are “classics” by the strict definition ppl judge hip hop classics by.
I think Nas has 3 indisputable hip hop classics if we’re using the strict definition.
Illmatic, It Was Written, STILLmatic
When we talk album over impact, influence, general quality, and commercial performance in proper context, those 3 albums qualify.
To me The Lost Tapes is Nas’ best body of work, and is definitely a classic NAS album… but it doesn’t meet the criteria of being a general hip hop classic because of it being a compilation of sorts.
Then you have another classic Nas album like God’ Son, which to me is like borderline and can be argued to be a hip hop classic, as it solidified his rank in history and really bookend his commercial peak before becoming a hip hop icon.
I think KD3 is a masterpiece, LIG and Magic are great albums, they don’t really qualify as hip hop classics. He has other good albums
