One document drafted by CRA staff and fellows includes a list of top priorities for CRA in a second Trump term. “Christian nationalism” is one of the bullet points. Others include invoking the Insurrection Act on Day One to quash protests and refusing to spend authorized congressional funds on unwanted projects, a practice banned by lawmakers in the Nixon era.

In a December campaign speech in Iowa, he said “Marxists and fascists” are “going hard” against Catholics. “Upon taking office, I will create a new federal task force on fighting anti-Christian bias to be led by a fully reformed Department of Justice that’s fair and equitable” and that will “investigate all forms of illegal discrimination.”

What we looking at:

The Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 offers more visibility into what policy agenda a future Trump administration might pursue. It says policies that support LGBTQ+ rights, subsidize “single-motherhood” and penalize marriage should be repealed because subjective notions of “gender identity” threaten “Americans’ fundamental liberties.”

It also proposes increasing surveillance of abortion and maternal mortality reporting in the states, compelling the Food and Drug Administration to revoke approval of “chemical abortion drugs” and protecting “religious and moral” objections for employers who decline contraception coverage for employees.

Another priority is defunding Planned Parenthood, which provides reproductive health care to low-income women.

Wolfe, who has deleted several posts on X that detail his views, has a more extreme outlook of what a government led by Christian nationalists should propose. In a December post, he called for ending sex education in schools, surrogacy and no-fault divorce throughout the country, as well as forcing men “to provide for their children as soon as it’s determined the child is theirs” — a clear incursion by the government into Americans’ private lives.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
He’s riding the vote that got him elected in the first placed.

Which is what’s wrong with with American politics in the first place. Instead of trying to win over other demographics, they dig in with that one side and that’s it.

But this is what the DNC wanted. This is what Hillary Clinton wanted. They saw Trump as an easy lick in 2016, and look where it got them.

If Clinton wouldn’t have ran, Trump probably wouldn’t have won his primary. CNN and MSNBC routinely gave Trump more press over all the other candidates.

And now they’re trying to scare people into voting for an old ass Biden.

Did you read any of the links?

The article includes links about expanding presidential power via project 2025
Yes.

The Heritage Foundation that wrote it has been around for 50 years. meddling in presidential administrations since it was founded. So why didn't the Democrats have a project 2021 to either prevent this from happening or carry out their own agenda?

Gotcha. Making a post that quipped about "presidents being able to do shyt" just seemed odd when the basis of it was expanding the power of the president.

Where are we even going with this pivot?

:dead:

Should the Dems make a law that ensures the separation of church and state? Maybe an amendment? Do better in the future to read fascist minds for project 2029?

Maybe make their own project 2025?

So the President can get things done?
If you act like a dictator and refuse to follow the rules, then sure. Look at El Salvador. They brought down the crime rate significantly by amending the constitution and making the president effectively dictator. Can't hate on them for that. They did get results. But conversely there is speculation that most people locked up are innocent and aren't given due process or trials and were thrown in with random gang members. This is the danger you run into when you expect a president to act as a king.

If you want to understand what is happening, look at the democratic backsliding of Hungary. They are literally taking the playbook from there and applying it here. Why do you think Republicans even held CPAC there and Tucker Carlson is blowing Viktor Orban any chance he gets? Everything you hear Republicans championing right now? Hungary did it first and is the template.

What we have a problem in this country with is that most people don't even understand how their own government works. They don't even understand a president isn't king. We have three supposed to be equal cobranches of government that are supposed to be checks on each other to prevent kings and dictators. This means bad actors with the right rhetoric can walk these people into giving up their liberty and rights without much effort because they can't think far enough ahead to realize what they cosigning and how it may impact them in the future. They always regret it when they are lined up against the wall with everyone else, metaphorically and sometimes literally.

Combine all the above that our wannabe autocrats and the people who are supporting them are vehemently anti-black, more so than Biden's "You ain't black if you don't vote for me" supposed antiblackness, black folks will have a bad time with these people. Especially when law and order no longer is there to at least give you some protection or recourse for justice, no matter how little that is now. Be careful what you wish for.
