Heard this argument from a podcast I listened to last night about immigration and its positive effect on the economy. I'll paraphrase it:
Say you have two individuals in the United States. Both are 18 and have a high school education.
They both work average jobs, get married, and have 2 or 3 kids. They drive average cars, live in average housing, and pay their taxes.
The only difference between them: one is a white American born in the US, the other is a DREAMer that immigrated from Mexico when they were 14.
Which one contributes more to the economy?
The native-born? Nope.
Are they the same? Nope.
The immigrant contributes more by far than a natural US citizen. In essence, a natural citizen uses tens of thousands of dollars worth of services and programs while not directly contributing to the economy before they start working.
Most DREAMers start work at an early age, so the immigrant in the example above hit the ground running in contributing to the economy. There's 14 years of tax-dependent services that the immigrant didn't use in the US, and if he started working and paying taxes at 14-15, he's miles ahead of the natural citizen in benefitting the economy.
Even if they both start working at 18, the immigrant still comes out on top in contributions.

With most of the pro dreamer/illegal immigrant points centering around the economy as a whole(lifting all ships jazz), while the critiques in this thread were mostly in regards to the low skill job market specifically and the depressing of wages.
