Rey is a legend. Easy 10.
10 off the WCW work alone, never really saw his WWE stuff because it really came after i stopped watching, but his LU shyt is top notch and shows that he is even better than before, he has the best psychology in LU, period.

Mic - 5 early career hurts him, didn't say shyt no real catchphrases and never great selling, but LU Rey, man comes off with the OG swag. Hell just going to Chavo Sr. and asking him for the greenlight on Chavo.

Personality /Gimmick - 10, man had the dog swag, you knew when you watched him you could buy into the story that he was gona give the opponent hell period. It worked, man was holding it down in WCW run and LU as an OG teaching the young folks a thing or too, nails it just like Konnan and Raven.

ring work - 10, WCW nitro cruiserweight and LU ring work with Mantaza, hell his match with Chavo was great.

Overall - 10, the man is a living legend, put lucha on the mainstream level in the US along with some others. Even a crossover star, man on ESPN even Papi knew who Rey was.

With a scale of 1-10 how would you rate Rey Mysterio Jr. in these categories:

-Mic work/promos: 4

-Personality/gimmicks: 8

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds): 8. Favorite matches include: vs. Psychosis (Bash at the Beach '96), vs. Eddie Guerrero (Halloween Havoc '97), vs. Chris Jerico (Souled Out '98), vs. Dean Malenko (Halloween Havoc '96)

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores): 7. A legendary high-flyer and cruiserweight who, unfortunately, has spent the last 15 years or so as a shadow of his former self due to a combination of age, injuries, laziness, and steroids.

Mic work/promos: 1
He was flat out awful. However it didn't matter because of his other strengths as a wrestler.

-Personality/gimmicks: 9
His gimmick was simple but he was mega over with fans and made tons of money off merchandise. He played the underdog role extremely well.

-Ring work: 10
One of the most entertaining wrestlers that I've ever seen and an important figure in lucha history. Even in 2016 he's still having MOTYC in Lucha Underground.
Feuds: vs Eddie Guerrero, vs Prince Puma, vs CM Punk, and the list goes on. Just too many great matches to name.

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores): 10
He may have been awful on the mic but he excelled in every other category as a wrestler. One of the all time great luchadores and was extremely innovative in his prime. As far as his WWE career goes, he accomplished way more than anyone expected in spite of bad booking. He isn't just a living legend but also a trailblazer. :salute:

Just like Scott Steiner, Rey was amazing in his prime...the injuries left him a shell of himself. its sad in a way.and then in the land of the giants that is the WWE he was still pretty damned good. But the injuries got to him though :francis:

Overall - an easy 9.5....if he was a more competent promo, I would have gone full monty on him. Legendary luchador

Psychology wise, he was far better in WWE than he was in WCW. Arguably, he had a better run in WWE than WCW because he became a much smarter worker who was more concerned with psychology and building a great FIP as opposed to going out and seeing what crazy shyt he could come up with that week. Really depends on what it is you look for in his work, really, but he wasn't a shell of himself by any means until the very end of his WWE run, and he's proven himself to still be a top tier talent on the indies. This mother fukker had a solid ass 3 1/2-4 star match with a pilled up Kurt Angle in an Indian casino in a match that had Riff Raff interference this year, breh.

Right. Why pick one portion of someones career. This is supposed to be an overall rating. So all things need to be considered. WCW, WWE, ECW etc. Not just one time period or specific run. Alot of guys work in one time period may have been less than stellar but their prime work or work in other areas was so good that you cant just label the overall body of work trash.

The TLR threads already covered some women from wrestling. Some of their ratings were :leostare:

They were over there calling Jojo average :wtb:

I don't take their opinions on any subject seriously over there.
