Fitzpatrick been playing with house money for the last 8 yrs. He plays well when he isnt expected to be the guy and win games.

Put playoff expectations on Fitzpatrick and see what happen. He the Lou Williams of QBs good enough to get you instant offense but not good enough to LEAD you playoff victories if you have championship aspirations.

Fitz has been cooking for my fantasy.

Lost Dak.

Guess I'll pick up Tua.

They should have waited for the eventual Fitzpatrick collapse. Now if Tua starts struggling, you'll hear Fitz being called. :mjlol:

Maybe it's because i'm a Fins fan and watch every game (We've been trash, I don't expect people nationally to watch us like that), I really don't get the hate at all.

"Aaron Donald is gonna kill him" Aaron Donald is the best defensive player in the league, he does that to everyone. It's to be expected.

Tua has been the backup all season. Meaning he was healthy and ready week 1 in case something happened to Fitz. If he wasn't 100%, why have him potentially playing snaps in Week 1, much less Week 8? The o-line isn't great, but I think it's decent enough and will only get better as the rookies progress. It's not like you can just sit him until the o-line is elite, hardly any rookie QB's would play if that was the case. Burrow is getting beaten up behind their trash ass o-line, no one is calling for him to be pulled because of the beatings he's taking.

"Fitz makes their o-line look better because he gets rid of the ball quickly". He was our QB last year and we were dead last in sacks allowed per game. Did he somehow just get pocket presence and a quick release this past offseason? Also, Tua's biggest strength in college was getting the ball out quickly and accurately to his playmakers. If he can't do that at this level, then he's got bigger problems to worry about. Not to mention the fact that he's obviously more athletic than Fitz allows you to run more RPO's that help combat pass rushing.
I get what you saying but he aint been hit in almost a year tho. Of course he gonna have to get hit eventually but I wouldn't throw him to THE WOLF cause you dont. know how he gon react mentally.
Tua got a habit of trying to do too much (how he got hurt in the 1st place) and that ain't what you wanna do against a monster like AD.
I'd wait til after the rams just cause i wouldnt throw a 1st gamer into the fire if i didnt have to

Front office/owner made this call. It absolutely makes no sense to start a rookie coming off of major knee surgery when your trying 2 make a playoff run

I get that. I think it's a trade off though because we have a bye this coming week so it allows Tua to have 2 weeks to prepare and the OC to implement a game plan that works best with Tua's skillset (I imagine you'll see a lot more designed runs, outside the pocket stuff, and RPO's). So I think it was a matter of deciding whether 2 weeks to prepare for the Rams D was better than one week of preparing for whoever else. Even if he gets roughed up, I don't think one week make or breaks a franchise QB. If he gets sacked 10 times and then sucks after - he just sucks, it wasn't because he got sacked 10 times in his first game.

But again, if he wasn't ready to be hit, why make him the backup in Week 1? He could have easily come into the game then and had to take hits if something happened to Fitz. If he was ready and healthy then, he's gotta be feeling a lot better about it now. Tua's parents have stated they text Flores all the time - if there was any hesitation about him getting hit, I'm sure he'd know.

Miami had a plan and didn't let a hot two game stretch derail that.

Good for them acknowledging that Tua getting snaps in 2020 weighs more than Fitzpatrick being good enough to give you hope before he implodes.

I would've waited until later the season or this year. Fins should let Tua sit this season and heal completely and learn. I hope Tua do well and can last thru this.

That's the thing, it's not like we were Super Bowl contenders anyway. What's the best case scenario with Fitz? We find a way to win the division and lose in the wildcard round? I'd much rather know if Tua is going to be the future or not going into next offseason. Fitz has shown what he is; he's streaky and can look great in spurts, but you're never going to actually contend with him. Why not see if your 1st round pick is worth a damn?

Surprised by this. Fitz has been playing well and I believe the Dolphins are on a winning streak. Tua must have looked good as hell in practice.
