The label downgraded to a mixtape with only 4 songs

But anyone who watches these women today, you should know their music isn’t going to sell if you not Nicki Minaji or SZA

Look at my old post where i said ice spice would be done by spring 2025 and where is she at?

Cardi B about to flop next month.. this first single outside is trash and this bytch put WAP and UP on the new album:mjlol: broad doesn’t have enough material to make music

Megan thee stallion hasn’t had a hit since 2023, her last album flop and those singles flop

Summer Walker music doesn’t sell, that mariah the scientist music doesn’t sell, that fake ass erica banks cant fill a hood park

learn to read. I went back and even added in "main" because i knew TLR does not read and does not do details.

soul II soul are the funky dreds who formed at the africa centre Africa Centre, London - Wikipedia in london.

no need to argue. just show me the concerts in places like india, romania etc of that R&B size.

i will take an L if you can do that.

Don't switch up you said their music isnt black American influenced that's cap..I know where soul to soul formed I also know where their music inspirationally and fundamentally comes from they are a god tier group..and your being disingenuous again you can do your own YouTube search to find that.. pip pip bloke

I will add this for your ignorance .. reading is fundamental

London R&B Influence

The London music scene in the early 1960s was significantly shaped by Black American rhythm and blues, with many bands in the developing club scene striving to emulate Black R&B performers. This influence was largely fueled by recordings brought over by African American servicemen stationed in Britain and seamen visiting ports like London, Liverpool, and Newcastle. The resulting British rhythm and blues had a "rawer" or "grittier" sound compared to the more commercially oriented beat groups.
American artists stationed in the UK, such as Geno Washington and Jimmy James, became integral to the British R&B scene. Washington, an American Air Force serviceman, joined Geno Washington & the Ram Jam Band in 1965 and achieved top 40 hits and two top 10 albums before the band disbanded in 1969. Jimmy James, born in Jamaica, moved to London after early success with The Vagabonds and built a strong live reputation, releasing their debut album The New Religion in 1966.
Later, in the late 1970s and 1980s, a new wave of British Black music emerged in London nightclubs, inspired by American funk but reinterpreted with a distinct British and Caribbean flavor. This movement, known as Britfunk, blended US funk with dub and jazz influences, fostering ethnically inclusive club scenes at venues like the 100 Club. Bands like Incognito, formed in 1979, combined brassy funk, soul, and Latin elements, gaining chart success and later becoming central to the UK acid jazz scene.

I respectfully do not believe this disproves my point. When you’re trying to reach a certain level of stardom, how you’re perceived in the US influences the rest of the world. I even said that in the post you didn’t fully quote, she’ll still be successful but not at the level her label aspired to be.
This is a blatant lie. I just did a tour in Asia you know how much fukkin dancehall and afrobeats they were playing. You mean to tell me y’all blew up Vybz Kartel and Beenie man or Shalliopopi and Rema? Do you ppl actually leave the US on a consistent basis? There’s a level of delusion some of you possess that I have not seen any where.

A south african making nigerian music for an American audience is wild work
Tyla doesn’t make Nigerian music she’s makes SA music, again do you ppl actually pay attention or do y’all just talk just to hear yourself
This is the illusion my bro,

The US is the biggest english speaking music market. Labels want to market their acts to sell in America, not the rest of the world. If the labels want to push an artiste internationally they put money behind them.

Nobody is going out of their to find out what Americans think is cool.
This is why you’re wrong again. Most intl acts don’t blow up in America. Globally speaking it always takes off in London then makes it way to America.

Her first album went gold in 2024

And this is a 4 track EP

She’s beautiful and young and u don’t need America to eat

Stay in Europe, Africa , the Caribbean and China and Japan as a African artist and eat good

This era is all about singles, albums doesn’t even matter anymore with this generation of microwave listeners

You are correct, leaders of the black free world:wow:. Which is why we must use our position reaponsibly.

I think the more accurate way to describe it would be that white americans look to us for whats cool.

I dont think anyone can name a black artist who skipped the proccess and ever became popular. If so,please name an artist who marketed themselves to a white audience or even both off rip and still became a big star?

Every artist whos ever became a star went through black people first. Make black people love you, then the door opens that Europeans may choose you as the one to crossover. Then you become big enough that you can be an international star/icon.

But in my opinion you CANT skip over black people and try to appeal to the whites off rip. Tyla and her team made this mistake in my opinion. They thought making her too black would hurt her reach. They tried to make her colorless and appeal to everyone.

But even though she came out the gate with a huge smash even white people know. She still couldnt skip the proccess. Name the black superstar and i bet you will see they were heavily marketed to us,and viewed as strictly urban artist first.

Not sure how they made the same mistake they made with Rhianna out the gate smh. Hopefully they learned, she will come back with a FBA hairstyle with a "round of applause" type of single. Possibly a manufactured relationship with a rapper.

This whole thread is jokes.

Nobody here does music on a professional level besides me and on top no one here works with intl artists like I do. Like I literally travel to different countries to record, produce, and dj. The shyt y’all say and the shyt I see with my own eyes couldn’t be further from the truth.

Again you have no idea what you’re talking about Tyla was always marketed to black ppl I know this because I’m in the same circle with a few ppl on her team. Again like another poster said they were just trying to juxtaposition her to be the new gen Rihanna. Not gonna work though because immediately I saw the process in their marketing campaign that caused hiccups. Her problem was the same problem Lizzo has When she first stepped on the scene. Go look up Ray Daniel’s interviews to know what I’m talking about
