He’s a danger to himself.
He makes bad decisions, so what, that isnt a commission issue. As long as he doesnt cheat and follows commission rules with regard to comp, its not a commission issue.

I swear some of you are wild , you want employers to behave like parents.

You realize the kind of shytstorm it would create if a current UFC fighter who happens to be a champion, killed himself or others because he drove drunk? Driving under the influence isn’t a bad decision when you’ve done it on multiple occasions. That’s indicative of someone who has a serious problem with alcohol and or drugs.

how is he a waste of talent, he's achieved everything in his sport with his talent, he didn't waste it

he probably an alcoholic and relapsed
Yeah, I don't get any of this "waste" shyt. He's already a legend and nearly the consensus GOAT. All of his fukkups happen OUTSIDE the ring and its yet to affect his actual fighting career outside of increasing his layoffs.

If ufc wants to take action they can, but it would be stupid, its combat sport, but they are a private org its their business.

Commissions are government and should just be about pure physical safety and.testing, not xharcter or moral shyt.

The man driving is while drunk is a criminal issue to be decided in the court of law, not by an athletic commission.

Since this is the larger thread, I'm just going to re-post what I wrote in The Ring's thread in here:

This sounds like a clear cry for help from someone who wanted to get caught.

I, like others commenting on both threads, thought this was old news because CLEARLY Jones wouldn't be stupid enough to do this again, and during a pandemic at that. But here we are, Jones arrested for yet another DWI. But this one doesn't involve the idiocy of all his other transgressions, nor the logical rationale behind the actions (yes, even the one where he crashed his car with a side chick in the passenger seat, and even the one where he crashed into a pregnant woman's car, fled the scene, then came back for his weed and fled the scene again). It's a guy getting caught drinking in his car, blatantly telling the police he was committing a DWI and was going to commit DWI again, and lying to the police about his handgun (which he was allegedly shooting for no reason). There's no real rhyme or reason for him to do that.

That sounds to me like a guy who needs some therapy to sort his head out, because something's going on. Doesn't need to be fighting, probably needs to get away from Albuquerque and all of his influences in that city, and definitely needs to seek real help. This is, what, the fourth or fifth time he's gotten caught like this? And it's seems as if he blatantly wanted the police to find him? Throwing the book at Jones might work, but I don't think that's actually going to solve whatever's eating at him, whether it be boredom from success, trying to live out his second childhood (remember, he became a father at a very young age, probably long before he was ever prepared to do such a thing), or whatever.

fukk me for doing armchair psychology, but if he had a real support system, they'd put anything related to fighting on hold immediately and get this guy into treatment as soon as possible. But we'll probably see nothing happen to Jones AGAIN and wait with bated breath for his next screwup or worse.
