This. Folks dont realize that MMA is a SPORT, not a STYLE. MMA fighters are trained and conditioned to face other MMA fighters, in MMA fights. Fighters do cross train in several arts, but most MMA fighters bread and butter are usually
1.Wrestling/Jiu Jitsu/Judo/Sambo
2. Boxing
3. Kickboxing/Muay Thai
Most fighters train in those styles and how to defend against those styles. The most successful fighters however go outside the box and train in TMAs such as karate, tkd, etc to gain that unorthodox advantage on fighters with tactics they dont train to deal with. Then on top of this, these fighters view other fighters footage in camp to develop a strategy and gameplan to win within that environment. You get none of that in a street fight, and especially against someone trained to FIGHT FIGHT and not just to compete for sport. Theres so many variables involved in actual fights that you cant prepare for and have to deal with as they come. MJW would be more suited for that type of situation because hes been trained to deal as much damage in the shortest amount of time and end fights as quickly as possible, even if that means permanently injuring or killing someone. In a fight, hes gonna pull some shyt an average MMA athlete has never trained to deal with. He gets the element of surprise on an MMA guy. Just cuz someone fights MMA doesnt mean they cant catch Ls from highly skilled people when out of their element.

Just to piggyback off of both of yall, I've said the same premise before, that being trained in specific fighting disciplines doesn't ensure you'd win a street fight...

I've seen it happen on a few occasions in the past, trained MMA style or boxers get beat up...that training presents an advantage with the average undisciplined fighter...

When the (relatively) rare person who isn't professionally groomed or trained to fight, but just has a natural inclination on how to read and react and attack, ends up matched with a trained fighter, all bets are off, and yes, alota times this catches trained guy off guard, who in his mind's eye is prepared to fight how he was taught in a confined, controlled environment...

Most street fights aren't controlled or confined and a veteran of street fights would be at an advantage...

Finally there's some dope cats to talk to :blessed:

Brehs, i know the marketing is good, but UFC really isnt that developed as a sport... MMA competitors are being wildly over rated on here. being a professional MMA fighter doesnt necessarily mean much, Its not as hard to become one as yall think. They arent these rare, world class elite athletes like boxers or ball players are.

MJW is superior to this dude across the board...The only advantage Perry MAY have by being a UFC fighter is endurance conditioning... which will mean nothing if he gets caught with something early.

Cacs in here are laughable.

MJW is the real deal. He's not your fukking Mark Wahlberg that does 3 months of karate training for his next movie. MJW has literally been doing this his entire life....for real real, not for play play.

lol he actually did though which is why dude is so generational. If he was actually groomed to be a boxer like many others were dude would be insane. He is literally raw talent and just recently becoming more skillful.

The real deal because he shoots action movies? Lol nikka has never competed professionally but would clean up a pro fighter:mjlol:

nikkas geeked off him showing kimbo a punching technique THAT DOES NOT WORK IN COMPETITION lol. The greatest boxers who have been punching for hundreds of years havent figured out the most effective way to throw punches because MJW said so and he knows better:stopitslime:

90% of TMA bs does not translate well vs a well trained resisting opponents which is why its rare to see a TMA based fighters in combat sports. And im not just talking MMA im talking all fight sports. If Kyukoshin masters thought they throw punches better than boxers they would dominate boxing. If Tae Kwan do masters felt they kicked more effectively than traditional muay thai or dutch kickboxers they would dominate Glory or K-1 in the past. Now you do have exceptions like Andy Hug and Lyoto Machida who won world championships sticking to a TMA base but thats rare.

MJW has the weight advantage but against a pro fighter (regardless how much hes trash because he is) its not enough:yeshrug:
