I'm interested in starting a management company dealing with all type of clients I have to music artist I'm working with now. I wanted to know if anyone else is into this and what would be a way to start off as far as what I would need to do legally.

how much would it cost to keep a website running monthly or at least est. prices
Depends on a few factors. Main one is your hosting cost. I pay $15/month for VPS hosting from DreamHost which lets you host multiple websites at a time. If you're building your website through Wordpress, there's really no cost unless you're paying someone else to build it. They may charge you a monthly fee to maintain and update things. I'd say it can cost anywhere from $15-30/month for a site assuming you're developing everything yourself and you're just paying for hosting each month.

@yung$$$jordan that job situation sounds rough. Been there. Hence why all of us are going the entreprenuership route. Nothing worse than putting your financial hopes in the hands of someone who will screw you over some BS.

Start by reading one of the books in the OP. I'd recommend Millionaire Fastlane first. It'll give you direction on how to choose what to do for your first business.

And just remember that entrepreneurship is about endurance. Everybody fails. The most successful people keep going after said failure. The cats who quit are the ones who get stuck in jobs they hate and complain about it daily.

  • Read " Rich dad ,poor Dad"
  • Network,network,network- attend of events and talk to people. This can make you business with one introduction.
  • use meetup.com to network, go to chamber of commerce events and join professionnal networking group
  • another way to network is hobbies and sports. spend $ on high end gym memberships the extra $40 a month will pay for itself
  • stay away from retail or brick and mortar businesses (unless its service)
  • Use collaborative spaces for an office and networking for example ; wework, workbar
  • try to find customers before starting business. you can get letter of intent or pre-orders
  • use social media as much as possible to promote business and generate leads. dont buy radio,tv ads and be carefull with pay per click campaigns. LinkedIn, tweeter and instagram, craigslist can be great resources depending on your industry.
  • read one new non fiction book per month
  • find startup incubator and accelerator programs, the have great events and resources
  • use SCORE mentor program Find a Mentor | SCORE
The image of your business mathers so hire graphic designer and invest (not spend) in a great logo and business card design
I generally don't participate in these threads, but this cannot be emphasized enough.
Networking through social media is still an incredibly under-utilised platform: Linkedin, Facebook, Tumblr, Reddit, Twitter, etc. You can grow popularity and network through that. If you go to hackathons (as a developer or designer, you can network through that).
I met a Black hedge-fund manager at a nearby high-end gym here in Cleveland (Lifetime Fitness), and I've been offered internships and the like just by getting to know some people who have connections in various industries.

It's usually bets to keep it all separate. Usually the hosting you get from a domain provider like GoDaddy isn't the best for the money you pay. It's best to just buy your domain there and find a hosting site that suits your needs elsewhere.

I know so many black men who own J's, $200 jeans, a bunch of electronics but not one LLC. These are guys in their 20s and even 30s. A lot of them on here too. I don't wanna hear any of these types of nikkas complain about "how hard it is to be a black man" and their struggles because they won't even use any of their disposable income to invest in themselves and their future kids, you don't have to be rich to do that, if you can buy $300 shoes, jeans, games, bottles and everything else, you can get an LLC. nikkas rather use their disposable income from Mr Charlie's job to flex and stunt than to build and invest.

As @AVXL knows, I've been VP of a startup car dealership for the past 8 months. Now this operation is at a bit larger scale than most but the principles are still the same. This shyt ain't for everyone I'll tell you that much. Been pushed to my limits more times than I'm comfortable with. Some days you wonder if a normal job was worth it just for your sanity. My personal life has become non-existent. :wow:

If you aren't mentally tough and aren't prepared for crazy ass setbacks and circumstances, do not pass go. If you can stomach the pain and weather the storm, being an entrepreneur can be very rewarding both mentally and monetarily.

I wouldn't trade the experience for anything else though. I've learned a lot about myself and others in the process. You almost learn to laugh in the face of danger.

I've been trying to switch from watching mindless television to reading and watching documentaries. Alot of brehs probably already seen it but, I recommend "Inside Job" if you have an interest in the financial markets. About to watch "The Ascent of Money" and work on things.

Edit: Just realized it's Saturday. I'm boring as shyt right now :mjlol:
