Im just glad that after this weekend i dont have to hear about this damn rental service again
Says who? :laff:
[They're] already telling you that it's still the greatest deal in gaming and that buying games doesn't make any sense. :mjlol:
I said it a while ago. Microsoft could announce today that they are no longer making consoles at all and Xbots will celebrate and say "who is really buying consoles anyway?". I'm fully convinced that MS could stop making games altogether and Xbots will say, "who even plays video games anymore?"

I wouldn’t be surprised if microsoft make an announcement that they are discontinuing series hardware before this year is over.

Bricks-and-mortar retailers have been gradually shrinking the shelf space devoted to Xbox for several years, and in many countries, it's increasingly rare to find Xbox products even on online retailers.

Specialist retailers still stock Xbox products, of course, but generalist retailers are tapping out. It's not a stretch to imagine that within the next year or so, Xbox products will be almost exclusively the preserve of specialist outlets and Microsoft's own online store.

According to data provided to GamesIndustry.biz by Dorian Bloch at NielsenIQ/GfK Entertainment, Microsoft's console accounted for just 11% of physical game sales in the UK in 2022, with Nintendo on 48% and Sony on 40%. The predicted numbers for 2025 are far lower, with Microsoft at just 6%, compared with 52% for Nintendo and 42% for Sony.

Writing has been on the wall all gen for the brand and if you’re still on the xbox train you might actually be mentally retarded at this point :manny:

Reading the comments it’s a Sony stan.. smh. Plus if he mad now wait till that B6 roadmap hit, there’s something you’ll really like. You thought EA did all this to be the opposite of COD? They wanna be the new COD lol.
BRB trying to picture Netflix, Disney, or even Spotify having a streaming service and creating a carve out for a specific piece of popular media on their service. You can get the Disney+ ad tier but if you do you can't get Marvel movies on it within a year of release or you can get the Spotify ad tier but no Taylor Swift albums within a year of release.

Game Pass is a part of the legacy Xbox hardware first business. Now that Microsoft is effectively a 3rd party a service that grants access to all their games without you having to buy a copy is in the way of the selling customers games.

They don't seem to just want to shutter the service so they're doing stuff like rapid price acceleration to make it unappealing to the masses and save face. They are turning what Game Pass was into something that doesn't make sense for the typical gamer who doesn't buy 5 AAA games a year and who doesn't play enough games to justify spending $360 a year on rentals.

They're fully aware this will cost them subscribers. That's actually the plan. Get these people to prefer buying games again and meet them on their platform of choice. Game Pass and Xbox hardware are for die hard whales now.
