Tech companies owned by black people.Come on breh, don't be dense![]()
Dense? Breh, i'm being realistic. Companies don't start out of thin air, let alone black-owned tech startups. That's getting too ahead of ourselves. Most tech companies are started by former employees of larger tech companies which according to this article are having a problem locating and hiring blacks and latinos. This problem begins with America's grade-school education system.
breh, we already have black owned tech companies. What we're saying is we need more. A whole lot more. It would be one thing if you advocated blacks struggle to get into these white tech companies, learn the game, then to do their own thing and hire their own.
I'm not hearing that as a potential solution. What I'm hearing is we need to just work harder and the discrimination will somehow disappear.
And not just tech. We need more blacks in construction, blacks with medical practices, blacks in sports medicine, blacks owning radio stations, tv stations, everything. That's the only way we'll ever get to the place where we can start to fight white supremacy.
Just came from a Job fair today in Houston and there was a extra long line for Engineering and Oil &Gas
I waited 20mins in line just to be told they were only screening people who had 2yrs of experience specifically in the oil & gas industry....
Waste of fukkin time

Pipelines, Flow Assurance, Project Managers & Designers, Supply Chain, Field Service, HSE, R&D, Operations, Etc.....What kind of positions
There are factors that prevent more black tech graduates that happen long before college.
and to start a tech company.. you don't really have to be technical.
The industry prevents blacks just like anything else from advancing.
And most so-called black tech graduates are mentally focused on finding the great job or money...... They aren't problack enough for the majority of them to be independent minded.... you can say all day that it's about being business minded.....
but as someone who deals with this shyt daily- i'd say you have to be black minded first. Business minded second. Even the corny nikka who you'd never expect to be pro black... might be pro black on the low when you really speak with them about their businesses n shyt.
So first step (IMHO) has to be fix the non technical and non business side of their minds.... to get them to focus on themselves and who they are in amerikka.. If not - they will accept working for CAC. and essentially we are back at square one.
What? I think you need to go back and read my posts. I'm advocating a slight variation of the bolded text. I don't want blacks to struggle, but I know it comes with the territory.
Breh, who do you think is going to be the ones to make the decision whether those black graduates get hired?
Breh anything other than putting us in the place where we can control everything on our own is going to cause us to struggle. Everywhere white people control, we are on the very bottom in this country.
The only way for us to finally never struggle again is to have all our own shyt.
Stop c00ningIt's a dumb sensationalist article. As pointed out, they are comparing the nationwide graduation rates to hiring rates in Silicon Valley. Silicon Valley companies are very selective. Think of them as the Ivy Leagues of the tech world. They only recruit at the top institutions. So across all races, you are going to have a very small hiring rate compared to the nationwide graduation rate.
What we need are more black Stem students overall and especially at top institutions.
Exactly. And how do we get to having all our own shyt? Education.
The education black americans receive in low-income cities/neighborhoods is downright criminal.
