That's why we gotta pool our resources and start our own. As things look now, I may have to take an initial pay cut when I make that transition to IT just to get my feet wet.

That helps in long run. It helps them get the experience and leadership to get to higher positions or create more successful startups. There's a good reason why Indians are now the CEO of Microsoft and the leading manager of Android and Chrome. It's experience and investment no matter what the cost.

Only 10% of college graduates are black and hispanics, and i'm sure a very small % of that 10% studied computer science or engineering. However, I doubt that's because minorities are not generally interested in STEM, but instead because they are not engaged or encouraged to study hard ass shyt like STEM in this systematically oppressed education system. Unfortunately, that is how the tech companies will defend and argue why they cannot find high-achieving minorities, even though they are out there.

sidebar: I'm in the Bay area right now for biz travel....I found out about a a startup networking event here in "silicon valley" last week...there were two other black people out of about 30 people. Both of them avoided eye contact and any kind of interaction with me and each other....
