They get taxed on card tips and have to split their tips with the kitchen, I think with the people at the bar, and I think the restaurant takes a small percentage out of it.

Most waitress and waiters eat good. They love to bring up what they get an hr knowing those tips easily beat out what they would make if they was getting min wage.

nope that's not how it works.

the severs have to split that tip with the bussboys, dishwashers, prep cooks, bartenders, etc. at the end of the day they might see 1/4th of the actual tip.

Maybe they should withhold their tip money like the resturant withholds money from them

the only females making good tips are maybe the ones at hooters, but the demand there is so high that many females don't get hired there.

the median salary of waiters/waitresses in the U.S. was $18,590 and the minimum wage salary was $15,080. i wouldn't consider that as doing better...I would say they are both struggling about the same.
