Yeah, RZA's flood altered a lot of stuff. Meth had to record the album while on the road and of course he had a deadline he had to meet, so the album was rushed. I feel like for a rushed project, it came out great. :manny:

The general perception is that " Meth dropped the ball ". Often, it seemed like people who were saying that were just regurgitating the same perpetuated propaganda. It's the complete opposite with Only Built 4 Cuban Linx and Liquid Swords.

I'm not saying those two albums aren't great, nor am I saying that Tical is superior, but it's gotten to a point where there are heads who feel as though they're supposed to say, " OB4CL is the best Wu solo "; same with Liquid Swords. Tical is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum.

And no diss to Dirty, I'd never kick dirt on him but how is Tical not better than Return to the 36? I've seen dudes on here rank it below that and while that is definitely a dope album, how is Tical not better?

The bar was raised far higher for Meth than anyone else in the Clan. No offense to Masta Killa or U-God, but if either one of them were to drop Tical in '94, the reception would have been far different.

The bar was raised for Meth because a big portion of the hip hop community BELIEVED he was gonna be that n!gga for a looong time. He had IT. He had the charisma, the looks, the skills and he was moving with a mighty crew. They didn't expect the same from the other Clan members.

I love meth as a rapper and i have enjoyed his albums (tical 0 was average but he still had joints on it). I just hope that crystal meth drops with all the rza production he claims it is. I don't blame him for not rushing- drop it when you feel it's right

People have re-written history concerning rae and ghost, too.
Originally, they were the weakest link as solo artist in the clan.
It was not until obfcl.
Did rae and ghost complete the ramp up process skillwise.
plus, once their slang got broken down and direction wise, they were viewed as the gangstas, of the clan.
Also, helped rae and ghost with general fans.
Before that,...
No one gave rae and ghost a chance to make a quality album.

rae and ghost at that time were the most improved emcees in rap history at that time.

That real talk,...
Their classic is the only one I could say rivals criminal minded as the best perfect album in rap history.

The thing about Meth was that the anticipation and hype for him was so high after 36 Chambers. His charisma and creativity was off the charts...I remember hearing him on a mixtape doing sort of like a freestyle remix of Method Man and he incorporated that School House Rock sh!t "I'm Just A Bill" and all I could do was

He's had some hot solo songs but overall I would have to say his solo career has been a slight disappointment.

Meth is that dude forreal. You won't find a more professional emcee out there. always brings INSANE energy to his shows and refuses to give his fans anything less than 100%. As others have said, I wish this was a 10min video instead of 4.

Son did an interview with XXL, it's kinda long so I won't post the whole thing but here's the link

As far as his next album, he says it's his last and he isn't speaking on it until it comes out.

As far as the Wu album goes, he says there are two main issues: a balance between dark material and light material and not enough Rae, Ghost and GZA. Initially RZA wanted a lighter approach and everyone else wanted a darker approach, akin to 36 chambers. RZA's view was how many times can we do the same shyt? Once they went overseas, the album got darker, a lot darker, so they're trying to find a right balance between what they want and what RZA wants. But he says Rae isn't on a single track right now, neither is GZA. Ghost is on a couple and of course they need more. However, he says he's on every track so far and he's finally feeling himself enough to say how dope of an MC he is
